For me, said error ONLY occurs when both Jetpack and WooCommerce are enabled.

Same problem.

But mine only occurs when I have WooCommerce and Jetpack activated. If I have both WooCommerce and Jetpack running, I can neither edit nor create a new posts because I get the exact same:

This site can’t be reached
The webpage at https://mysite.com/wp-admin/post-new.php might be temporarily down or it may have moved permanently to a new web address.
ERR_HTTP2_PROTOCOL_ERROR

If disable either, editing goes back to normal.

(And I am running storefront as per the instructions of the WooCommerce people.)

Naturally, the people over at WooCommerce are sure it is a Jetpack problem.

As I have stated, the conflict only occurs when BOTH WordPress AND Jetpack are BOTH enabled.

Disable Jetpack, and everything is fine.

Disable WooCommerce, and everything is fine.

Jetpack is already at 10.1.

WooCommerce is already at 5.6.0

Already using Storefront

The WooCommerce status report shows nothing but green.

And I have quit trying to find this problem–it will be easier and faster to rebuild this from scratch.

Agreed. I mean, it could be something as bizarre as a line of code somewhere got screwed up by something else.

Well, I told cPanel to take it to PHP 7.4, and it produced the same error. PHP 7.3 also produced the same error. PHP 5.6 simply glitched out WordPress itself, and the site would not load.

I am willing to try any tests you want. Also, I do have a staging site I am using.

Also, a little more information for you: This error is not a resources one. Those take while (like 30 seconds) to error out. What happens with this error is I hit either EDIT or NEW POST, and the screen, within 1 second goes white and gives me that error message.

Also, it is not a 404 error–those popup with the standard 404 message and a pretty picture associated with the theme. Instead, this glitch is like… by analogy, I tell it to edit a file, and WordPress (or maybe PHP itself–I can’t tell which), spits back with the computer equivalent of “I have no idea what you are talking about.” Like it doesn’t KNOW what it is being told to do. But if I disable Jetpack or WOOCommerce, suddenly it knows to load in the proper WP module and do whatever function I have commanded.

OH! Fun other fact: WPeMatico CAN make NEW POSTS by pulling articles from an RSS feed and doing what it does to make new POSTS. I can QUICK EDIT them, I can VIEW them. I can TRASH them. I just can’t EDIT them. Because an RSS aggregator can directly make new posts, what that tells me is that the conflict is… directly interfering with the NEW POST and EDIT POST WP pages that users access, while an RSS aggregator is probably bypassing those and directly writing to the database. QUICK EDIT appears to also directly write to the DB, as does TRASH.

For what it is worth, if we don’t find this error’s reason, it is not a critical issue. I’ve spoken with the owner of the site, and have advised him to go with a different direction for his site, which I feel would best be done from scratch. As such, this site is going to remain as a “portfolio” site to show what we can do, but the post functions will not be needed. (And if they are, because I want to make a new post for whatever reason, I will simply disable JetPack or Woo and write the post.)

Thus, if you wish to just chalk this one up to “No idea, we give up.” that is fine. It won’t harm anything at our end. But if you want to try and find out what the core problem is I am more than willing to do whatever suggestions you want. I have backups galore and can always restore back to where it is now.

OK, I don’t think I was clear enough–the site does NOT go down. I get an error, and I can IMMEDIATELY hit the back-arrow and maneuver through the admin panel menu.

What happens is when I go to post a NEW message, or EDIT a message, I get the following errors:

It only happens when BOTH Jetpack AND Woo Commerce are running. I just recreated the error several times. In fact, I can disable ALL other plug-in, leaving ONLY Woo Commerce and jetpack active, and the error is 100% consistent.

Switched to Storefront.

If I turn off Woo Commerce (5.6.0), OR I turn off Jetpack (10.0), my POST functions return.

Thus, it appears to be those two are not playing nice together.

I deleted and reinstalled Jetpack–same problem.

I deleted and reinstalled Woo Commerce–same problem.

Suggestions?

Deactivating a whole slew of plug-ins produced nothing until I de-activated Woo Commerce.

New Post and Post editing came back.

Activates Woo Commerce again — post error.

Deactivated again — posting came back.

Any ideas?

Update: I copied those two files from a working site and… nada. Still won’t work. It has to be something added that is blocking.

And, I also tried a different browser.

And I went back to my oldest backup–same problem. I have to either fix this, or start from scratch.

Ahhh! That explains it. I tried yours first, and recognized it. I set up a site… last year (or two ago) with it. But I couldn’t get it to post today–which was REALLY confusing because I knew that it could in the past.

Is it a switch I set in Aggregator, or is it another plugin that is needed to work with it, and if so, do you have a link to it?

@blog2socialsupport You may wish to add Parler to the mix. Politics aside, I just checked it out, and because enough of the “Conservatives” have gone there to get away from it all, now the buzz marketing is kicking in, and one of the major hashtags is #boobs

In short, the Cons have gone there like the Pilgrims, but they are being followed by the Fifth Avenue Marketing and the Webcam chicks. To add it to the mix is going to be vital for your software.

Well, the big problem is that finding an RSS plugin is simple. Go to your dashboard, plugins, add new, rss and there is the list. The difficult part is in knowing what they do. I installed 5 of them off of that list. One would NOT import images. One would import images if you paid $79 a year. One sat there doing its imitation of the Dead Parrot sketch. (Playing, sadly, the parrot.) Of the 2 that imported images, none of them sorted your feed–in short if your first RSS feed has 5 things in it, and you have the RSS window set for 5 items, none of the items from all subsequent feeds would be displayed even if they had newer items.

And at that point, I gave up.

I would have preferred a RSS module, but I wound up going with a plug-in that takes new RSS items and converts them to posts. Not what I wanted, but at least it will give the posts a creation date based off of the creation date the RSS item was created, so I have sorted messages.
