Having no idea if you are willing to spend some money, but KnowTheCode by Tonya Mork is well worth the money.
Thanks for explaining, it’s helpful to know what might cause this issue and I will turn WP_DEBUG_DISPLAY off for now.
And please let me stress the point that there is absolutely no need to apologize (to me or anyone) for developing a great and free product for people to use, that might have the odd bug here and there.
Your support and continued development in taking care of these is what is important here, and you take care of that in a great way!
Have a great day and thanks again!

A other option might be to use a plugin to force TLS/SSL/HTTPS on your site, and this plugin might do the trick for you, it’s a set and forget type of installation.
@thomasplevy Still gathering WP logs, I want to make sure it’s not a theme/plugin conflict, so I am trying the Twentyseventeen theme and disable any active plugin to see if that solves the problem.
@thomasplevy Not trying to hijack the thread, but I am experiencing the same problems as @faye78.
From what I noticed is when I enrole the Admin to a course, the quiz questions load without a problem and the admin can even retake the quiz. The score gets updated according to the current answers (The previous test results comparison and so on.).
When I Logout and switch user with a “customer” account assigned and enrol this one to the same course, the quiz questions do not appear. You only see the text “No question found.” and you see the timer counting down. Maybe @faye78 could confirm this behaviour?
I will try to gather a WP debug-log. A.t.m. there are no glaring JS conflicts shown in the various browser inspection tools.
