In reply to: security for wp4.9.4 : plugin security scanner found something? An unresolved vulnerability report creates a perception of WordPress insecurity among nervous executives, and many users. Site admins using security plugins that subscribe to the WPScan Vulnerability Database will continue to be alerted about this issue.
If they are not going to mitigate this issue in core, the WordPress Security Team could dispute the vulnerability report.

In reply to: security for wp4.9.4 : plugin security scanner found something?I can’t find the trac ticket for the vulnerability you mentioned in 4.9.2. Is there a ticket?
I could not find the option for Sucuri to create a Zip archive of plugins before they are reset.
I am at a loss to explain this then, as the premium plugin’s Plugin URI didn’t point to www.remarpro.com. However, as both plugins are obsolete, it is probably not worth investigating further.
The only way I can think of to disambiguate a directory naming collision would be to parse the Plugin URI: value from the header comment. It should be unique.
I don’t know if the so-called “GPL Clubs” change this value. Even if they do, all the affected plugins are going to be premium ones.

Sorry, false alarm. My mail server is *really* slow today. The test emails finally came through. From now on, I will test before and after doing an upgrade, not just after.
