“In case anyone asks, ….It won’t work/hide existing widgets, however …”

This is my question. I have a site that has around 60 widgets, with a front page that has at least 20. I am using 2 obsolete plugins to be able to side/show in different areas/pages/ sidebars & add CSS style to each.

If I add this plugin, will it read what is currently there and just add the hide/show drop down? Give me a place to add CSS?

OR

Do I have to recreate everything in this plugin? [YIKES]

Obviously I still use the Classic Widgets.

First thank you for responding so quickly, I unfortunately was called away from the computer for days. And Now– it is working! So I do not know why it failed after it’s up date, but glad it is now as it should be. ty

Gonna blame some of this on poor old memory..
the rest of the issues seem to be fixed.
And currently Classic Editor is running as it should.

Well I did install Health Check, but when trying to use it all I get is the block editor to check -test. Does not help me.

Another question: Does the ‘save draft’ button only appear on new posts or pages?

Once they are uploaded, and then going to edit, that is when the ‘save draft’ is gone for me.
I went to several other sites and found the same thing and think this is just the way this plugin now works. ???

ty Life took over and I haven’t worked this out yet.
Fortunately the front end of the site is fine, and as it is quite active at this time, I will wait a bit before doing this.
Most likely this weekend-early next week.

I updated the site I was most concerned about and all seems to be running smoothly.. thankfully. It has an older theme with much customization of templates and such.

Hopefully someone can help you.

I tested this on a small install old site and the editor still works…thankfully.

Has anyone tested this? Why would they dump a much used plugin with no warning to users.
I need to know too.

So if I am understanding this correctly..
If a post has been made in Classic Editor and down the road that plugin is removed, the post will revert to a ‘block’ style but the content will remain the same?

well lucky for me there is a Classic Widgets plugin.
I just hope it works when 5.8 is loaded.

I am already doing that, they can’t scan as I think Google has not updated that I fixed it (as far as I know)

I checked another WP site for that att folder and it isn’t there so I guess this site was hacked.. to do what is the question is there are no forms, no downloads ..

I will have to wait for Google to re-index it.
