In reply to: [Event-O-Matic] Multiple results for addressI’m not saying places don’t have addresses, what I’m saying is that some Asian addresses (especially in Thailand)are formatted very differently to western ones, and its very common for a large structure (Shopping Malls, Stadiums) to have a street address often without numbers, and such addresses fail more often than succeed. Its very irritating inputting an address you know to be valid only to have it rejected – and there is absolutely no way around this.
Example: National Stadium, Rama 1 Road, Bangkok; Rajamangala National Stadium, Ramkhamheng Road, Bangkok.Forum: Plugins
In reply to: [Event-O-Matic] Multiple results for addressThere should be an option to add locations without the geo links – many places in Asia don’t have addresses in the western style and that sometimes means we can’t add a venue without inventing some ‘specific’ address.

In reply to: [Event-O-Matic] [Plugin: Event-O-Matic] 2.5 feature request1. Events should be able to last a lot longer than 5 days – we list 2 month long art shows and other events that can be even longer.
2. The US date format needs an easy to charge selection box. 95% of the world uses the logical day-month-year format and many outside the US don’t understand what 13/24/12 might mean!Forum: Fixing WordPress
In reply to: Please help!I have two sites on the same server both using the same theme. I upgraded both to 3.3 but only one of the two has this issue. I can’t see that its a cache issue.

In reply to: Visual editor is no longer showing after upgrading to 3.3I have two sites on the same server. After upgrading both to 3.3 one is OK and one has the same problems described above – and its not related to cache on my computer as my client in a different city is having the exact same issue with one of the two sites. Editing and using F5 have made no difference.
The site that is OK is in a subdirectory, while the problem site is in the public_html (main) directory.Forum: Fixing WordPress
In reply to: fatal error after 3.0.5 update“dragonc: There isn’t a “bug” in the new version that would cause this. Please stop suggesting this on every 3.0.5 post on the forum. It’s wrong.”
Andrew – If its not a bug, why was a fix added via Akismet? Or is “bug” the wrong word to describe something that causes problems to so many who upgrade? I don’t recall there being so many problems on previous upgrades.
I will keep quiet from now and let others help as I am obviously posting false information and not welcome here.
My site crashed after upgrading like many others. I followed a piece of advice which I passed on to others with the same problem, so that was obviously the wrong thing to do.
I restored the previous version and won’t upgrade again until 3.5 comes out.

In reply to: PHP error after updateThere is a bug in the new version, its well covered in the forum if you read through it. One suggested fix is to change the name of the plugin folder by FTP or cpanel, then you should be able to access the site. Change the plugin folder name back after getting into admin, activate akismet and upgrade it, then reactivate the other plugins. But do read through this forum first.
I restored a backup and reverted to the previous version.Forum: Fixing WordPress

In reply to: Posts/Media/Widgets disappeared and site reverted?!If you changed your web host, then the database and files would have been some how transferred from the old host to the new. I suspect the situation is that that transfer was a backup of the site as at 6 January.

In reply to: apt upgrade reverted WP version to 2.5Not sure about a multisite upgrade, but there is a small bug in 3.0.5 that is causing some problems.
