In reply to: Sites under Multisite having category issuesAs it turns out, I needed to do the “update database” function. Then everything was back to normal and both of the test categories I added were visible.
If anyone comes across this from a Google search, try this. I didn’t get a banner notification from inside WordPress and I have things set to automatically update, so I forgot that was a function. I was trying to figure out how to assure the database wouldn’t carry through the same problem if I did a fresh install, which was my next troubleshooting step. That’s when I remembered the Update Database function.

In reply to: [Multisite Admin Bar Switcher] Blog name changes not recognizedAh ha! Thank you – worked like a charm.
I thought it might have been a cache issue (hence my trying a different browser), but didn’t realize the plugin had its own cache.
On a different note, any plans to have an option for the site list to be accessed from an icon (rather than words)?
On a small mobile screen, where WP defaults to an icon instead of words, the list disappears. It shows again when the tablet is turned sideways to create more screen space, but an icon would be a nice feature. Although, it’s probably more difficult than it seems.
Thanks again!

In reply to: Plugin to count words in category?Anyone? I started to learn php just to do this, but is that really necessary? Surely this isn’t that odd of a question. Google seaches every which way from Sunday only cover total number of words on the blog, or the number of words in a single post.
Is it even possible to get a total word count for a single category?

In reply to: Plugin to count words in category?Alternatively, a way to get the total word count for a tag would work. What is described in this support thread would be perfect – if I could get it to work.

I’ve tried putting the code from that response into the tag template for a child theme of Twenty Twelve and I either “break” the template or I get no change what-so-ever to the output. It’s like the new code isn’t even there.
Ideally, I would like to be able to have a sidebar widget that showed the number of posts in a specified category/tag and the total word count for that category/tag.

In reply to: [BulkPress] Reorganize terms not workingI have the same problem – changes do not get saved. I turned off all other plugins except BulkPress and the same thing. I tried a multisite amd a standalone blog and the feature didn’t work on either.
I’m using WP 3.5.1 with Version 0.2.2.1 of the plugin.

In reply to: [CalPress Calendar] Show default weekDon, I love the way this calendar looks and works out of all the plugins I’ve tried – kudos to you. ??
I too would like a feature to have the calendar automatically open to showing a specific month.
I plan on using this calendar as part of a private blog where I plan out my novel. Each event will be a specific event in the novel. Since I have to pick a real date to set the event, I would usually start with the current month. However, as I work on the novel, I will obviously move farther and farther away from the dates that I set my events.
Therefore, it would be a big help if each time I looked at the calendar it always started with the month I chose, instead of having to scroll to the month every time I access the page, or change the view.
Even though the events are technically “passed” I would still want to view them as “current.”
I hope that helps with understanding one way this feature could be used.
Thanks, Cathy

In reply to: [PhotoDropper] [Plugin: PhotoDropper] 2.0.1 Update stinks :(Sure.
Version 1.0.9 and lower, the plugin file is called “flickr-post-plugin.php”. Starting with version 2.0, the plugin file is called “photodropper.php”.
So, when I go to my list of plugins, I get an error message at the top of WP that says: The plugin photo-dropper/flickr-post-plugin.php has been deactivated due to an error: Plugin file does not exist.
I got the same result on:
1. Multi-site installation
2. Stand alone installation
3. Auto update
4. Manual updateThanks,
Cathy

In reply to: [PhotoDropper] [Plugin: PhotoDropper] 2.0.1 Update stinks :(I must also say that I’m at a loss with the update to the 2.0 versions. It was a fluke that I found out that the actual plugin file no longer has the same name and therefore WP thinks it doesn’t exist anymore.
Therefore, in order to *continue* to use Photo Dropper it is necessary to activate a *new* plugin. That doesn’t make sense to me. Updates should be seamless, yes?

In reply to: List of sites from admin bar in multisite won't scrollWell, it’s good to know that it’s being looked at; at least I’m not going nuts! ??
Fortunately, I discovered that if you click on the My sites link (the words themselves), it takes you to a page that lists all your sites. Which is still easier than having to bookmark the admin screen for all my sites individually. One extra step than a drop down, but I’m glad it’s there.

In reply to: List of sites from admin bar in multisite won't scrollHmmm…I thought it was supposed to work like that. The problem is, it doesn’t for me. The page moves, but scrolls behind the list; the list itself doesn’t move with the page.
I don’t know if it helps any, but the same behavior occurs no matter which site I’m on in the network. ??

In reply to: [WordPress-Amazon-Associate] Ver 1.5.2 Problem – Links not located correctlyI also had the same thing happen. I posted a comment on the plugin’s website as well. Great plugin – I’m sure it will be fixed soon. ??
