In reply to: all my wp-admin pages are emptyInteresting… when I renamed the ‘plugins’ folder.. ‘pluginsold’… the problem went away.
When I renamed it back, the problem came back.
Interesting….

In reply to: all my wp-admin pages are emptyare you saying I should backup my database? ??
actually that was the first thing I did.. I do it every month. I’m funny that way.
OK… I’m going to do an emergency upgrade in the morning … hoping somehow this all solves itself overnight.
thanks!

In reply to: all my wp-admin pages are emptyvkaryl – I’ll try a clean wp-admin folder.
The deactivating plug-in before an upgrade is what has me all worried here – if I just copy them locally and delete what’s on the server .. will I be OK?
Update tried a new / clean wp-admin folder from a back up I did a few weeks ago – no luck.

In reply to: Internal Server error 500i just upgraded to 1.5. from 1.2 and got the dreaded ‘Internal Server Error’ too.
for about a half a minute I had a nice neat new install and when I tried to go check my permalink structure (like it says to on the codex), that’s when the error popped up.
Now I get it everywhere… on the index.php, when I go to wp-admin, whatever. Nothing let’s me beyond that message.
I tried the chmod trick, orginally I was all 000 and I changed everything mentioned above to 755.. no luck.
Fyi – I’m on dreamhost if that mattters.

In reply to: Since upgrading, my RSS feeds seem to be borkedChanging the permalink structure fixed the problem … thanks!
Now another request for any of TPTB here that are reading this – I also posted this problem to the Feedburner boards and they are very interested in understanding this little so they can help any other WP folks using FB that have the same problem. So if someone who understands the problem above can drop them a line, they’d be doing their good deed for the day.

In reply to: Since upgrading, my RSS feeds seem to be borkedThanks!
I suppose I should change them in the <head> section as well so they can be autodiscovered?
Or I could (sigh) just change my permalink structure and there won’t be a problem at all….

In reply to: Trackback SpamI’m getting hit as well. Must be the new thing.
I’m going to turn off trackbacks until someone figures out a fix….

In reply to: phpMyAdmin exported database screwieA tip of the hat to Podz for solving the problem — actually the file was unzipped when I tried to import it but the trick was cutting and pasting it into phpMyAdmin – sans the first handfull of comments / lines.
thanks!

In reply to: phpMyAdmin exported database screwieStats database? Where would I find what I have to empty? In the database itself?
Podz… I think I’ll take you up on that offer….

In reply to: RSS feeds for each categoryAlrighty then… a bit clearer.
Thanks and I’ll give it a try!

In reply to: RSS feeds for each categoryhrm..
so for example… if I want a separate feed for the catagory “pictures” I’d put <?php wp_list_cats(‘feed=pictures’); ?> in the index.php file? and that would generate the feed?

In reply to: 1.02 -> mingus and now can’t loginThe password is hashed when I look at it in the database, so that’s fine.
Index.php looks fine, the blog is there, but I’ve cleared cookies and I’ve tried podz’s solution, but still no luck.

In reply to: Password gone missing after upgradeI tried that… no luck.
No luck clearing cookies from my browser or emptying the cache.
If someone could tell me how to empty the cookies from my website, I can try that. I’m not quite sure what that means.
