Yes you will, if you want to post an actual article directly on the blog. It is possible for him to add you as a user, but I’m sure he would’ve given you a password if that’s what he meant.

I’d say he would either like you to write an article and send it to him so he can add it – or maybe he just wanted you to add some comments to his posts?

Whooami – thanks for replying and yes, that’s what I thought.

The first time, I copied the whole plugins folder from my main domain into wp-content for the subdomain – but when I logged into wp-admin, none of them showed up. OK, I thought, serves me right for trying to be too smart!

So then I uploaded some plugins to the “plugins” folder in wp-content in the dressforflamenco.com directory. I did exactly what I do when I upload the plugins on the main directory. I can see that I’ve uploaded and unzipped them. But when I log in to wp-admin for dressforflamenco.com, I can’t see them.

    I’m stuck!

I use a theme by Vladimir Prelovac and it has a multi-pages widget built in. The multi-pages widget allows me to choose which sub-pages to exclude from the navigation bar. I’m sure it’s available separately if you do some searching.

Thanks Rose. I tried reloading the forum after I had changed to my new theme, and it worked first time, no problem. So clearly, it was the Adflex Niche theme that was causing the trouble – like Yellow Swordfish said.

I think my site still has some tell-tale blog-like features, but several blog directories have refused my listing on the grounds that “your site is not a blog”.

    See what you think.

Thanks for the tip, kneeki. I’ve changed to another theme as I found some strange things happening with phpBay. The new theme has no background so the tiling has gone!

I was using the Adflex Niche theme. It was certainly very easy to customise for a newbie, but looking at the code, it also seems a bit top-heavy – probably due to the automated customisation. I tried to add a forum and some very peculiar things happened! Has anyone else used it?
