In reply to: [N-Media MailChimp Subscription] Hidden fields have reappearedWhy is this topic marked as “Resolved”?
I’m frankly a little disappointed to learn that such a simple function has simply disappeared, and that it “may” reappear later…
This plugin worked fine up to now, but this function is necessary for me — I need to make sure a checkbox is checked “invisibly” each time someone subscribes to our newsletter, to automatically add certain information about subscribers to my list without making this info obvious (it’s just language information).
If this is not possible, I will unfortunately have to switch to another plugin :/

In reply to: [N-Media MailChimp Subscription] Hidden fields have reappeared(PS: is there no way to fix this issue in a future release of the plugin? It would be a shame to remain stuck forever with an old version, just because of a missing function?)

In reply to: "Recent Posts" theme widget – All dates the same!Hi Esmi,
But what if:
– the theme designer remains perpetually oblivious to any form of complaint or help request? (mine is)
– said theme worked fine for more than a year on various sorts of servers, including online and localhosts, before trying it out on this new server? (mine did)I lack specialist knowledge in this field, but something tells me the theme is not in cause. I may be wrong. One thing’s for sure: the theme developer is AWOL…

In reply to: "Recent Posts" theme widget – All dates the same! Thanks for your reply, Alchymyth, but I suspect it is not a problem linked to the theme I’m using — the widget was working fine on all other servers and localhosts I tried before moving to this new server. I just can’t find the source of the issue.
Other plugins have also been coming up with error messages according to which various directories of this new server cannot be written into — despite all permissions being configured correctly.
So all this leads me to suspect some server setting is at the root of all these bizarre phenomena.
Any recommendations?

In reply to: [Facebook Feed Grabber] Does the jobHi Bonnerl,
Thanks for the tip on the scrollbar, it’s true that it works fine like that.
I was a bit grumpy because I struggled to try and implement a javascript thingy, maybe a little prettier, which puts up and down arrows at the top and bottom of the div, instead of the scrollbar… But I’m not good enough at this kind of programming to know how to do that. Would you have any advice on this?
Also, regarding the styling, would it be possible to give different styling to the FB post titles (compared to the story, for ex)? And to make sure the links within the FB post are clickable?
Best,
D-Hey man,
I’m on a trip currently, terribly slow Internet connexion — I’ll try again in about a week when I’m back home, and will let you know.
Thanks for your help.
Cheers,
D-Yes, I think that was probably the problem.
I’ll see if this fixes it next time I try the install.
Thanks for your support.“open_basedir” doesn’t appear in my php.ini file (set to “no value” in phpinfo).
Permissions seem to be alright…
I tried the same install on a different server, and this time the problem is slightly different: I actually get the “Install Complete” screen, but upon trying to access wp-admin, a message tells me the database needs to be repaired. I repair it, all tables seem to be OK. But still the message occurs, so I visit the DB through PHPmyAdmin, and discover that, once more, all tables exist but all are full of zeros…
Actually I just read on the Duplicator FAQs about something that may be causing mayhem (?): the fact that half of my site is in Chinese, and that I should have therefore unchecked the “Enable character conversion encoding” option when creating my package…
Do you think this could be the culprit?Indeed it should!
Old server, was running under PHP4.Thanks for the quick support!
(now I just need to buy access to an extra database on my server… Shame Duplicator has to erase all existing tables ?? )

In reply to: No tabs plug-ins work with my siteStill no joy on my side.
Even after disabling all possible culprits among the plug-ins, I get the same results on my test pages.
I’ve contacted my theme developer, but he abides by the strict life principle that once he’s sold a theme, his business is done.So for now I work my way around this issue.
But if you manage to solve yours, 1GR3, please do share the information!Cheers
