Never mind! I tried going through all my plugins again one by one and it seems to be a different one that’s the common denominator. I’m sorry for bothering you!

Thanks again for looking at it…

It definitely isn’t related to the size of the browser window, even full-size, the sidebar is always at the bottom of the page. I’m not sure what to try now…if you have any thoughts as to what I could try next to fix it, it would be much appreciated…I’m totally stumped and frustrated ??

I’m thinking I might just have to trash the whole idea of using two themes and go back to having two sites. But I don’t really want to do that after all the time I’ve put into trying to do it this way…argh.

Okay, I followed Method 2 from the FAQ very carefully this time! Things are mostly working — the two themes are applying to the pages I want.

But the sidebar is still at the bottom of the page! When I’m using Theme Test Drive and view the page through Appearance > Customize, the sidebar is where I want it. It’s after I deactivate that and activate Multiple Themes that the layout changes.

It is progress, though, because my widgets are there now. As a matter of fact this setup will be good enough as long as I am able to style the widgets…Hopefully whatever is causing this won’t make it so styling changes don’t stick or anything like that…

Thanks so much for the fast reply!

I do mean Portfolio Press, sorry ??

I actually tried the method with Theme Test Drive first and still had this problem… But I’m going to try it again right now and just double-check that I followed the steps right. I’ll get back to you after I try again.

    Thanks again! Appreciate your time.

    Thank you!!

It was the caching, I guess — I turned off Photon in Jetpack and now it’s working. I had noticed that the image URLs were changing to “i1.wp.com” but I didn’t realize why that was happening or what it was doing!

Thanks again for your help ??

Okay, it seems like you just can’t preview the page to see it with the different theme applied fully — some parts of the layout change, but not the header.

Once I published a page the theme changes completely and the header changes too.

Never mind, I guess it just doesn’t look like it’s going to work correctly until you actually publish the page — preview doesn’t seem to show the different theme applying.
