In reply to: [Post Types Order] Re-order not appearingFound it: in the settings, I had the ‘minimum level’ set as ‘subscriber’. I changed it to ‘administrator’ and magically, the Re-order menu reappeared in the admin area.

In reply to: [Post Types Order] Re-order not appearingThank you very much for replying to me.
The plugin is indeed active. On the settings page, the two boxes are checked.
On the posts page in the admin area, I just cannot see the Re-order menu.Could it be the result of an update or conflict with other plugins? (I have BlackStudio TinyMCE Widget, BruteForce Login Protection, Custom Sidebars, Google Custom Search, Post Types Order, Quote Master, WP Statistics)
Thank you so much again.

In reply to: [Quote Master] Quote Master and problems to access DashboardThank you very much Frank Corso. I am so glad the problem isn’t with Quote Master, because, once again, it is such a great plugin. Congratulations to you!
If I deactivate Quote Master, do I lose all my quotes?

In reply to: [Quote Master] Quote Master and problems to access DashboardThank you so much Frank Corso for your prompt reply.
Yes, I mean the admin bar. And yes, when I go to https://drmarkdooley.com/wp-admin/ I receive that error.
I am using WP 2013, and the other plugins I have installed are:
– Black Studio Tiny MCE Widget
– Custom Sidebars
– Google Custom Search
– Post Types Order
– Quote Master
– WP StatisticsForum: Fixing WordPress
In reply to: Quote MasterWill do. Thank you Tara.

In reply to: WP StatisticsHello again,
Please allow me to put my question to you all again: I notice that some visitors are trying to access my site through the login page. Does that mean they are hacking my site? What should I do?
Many thanks again in advance for your advice.

In reply to: 'You do not have sufficient permissions to access this page.'@billardis – Apologies accepted, and welcome to the Forum! ??
@ftschumann – Thanks. I’ll take the necessary precautions and hold my breath!

In reply to: 'You do not have sufficient permissions to access this page.'@ftschumann – thanks for your help. I’ll try and deactivate the plugin from the admin area, just to test, as you suggested.
Can you confirm that deactivating will not delete all the data (the quotes) that I have entered in the Quotemaster plugin?

In reply to: 'You do not have sufficient permissions to access this page.'Thanks a lot ftschumann for your help, but I need to keep Quotemaster on the website.
And WP is not installed on my computer. I am maintaining this website for a friend in another country. All I have access to is the admin area of the website.
I’ll go and check whether others have had similar problems when installing Quotemaster.
Thanks again!

In reply to: 'You do not have sufficient permissions to access this page.'Thanks ftschumann. It started recently. I cannot make a definite connection with a plugin I might have installed or a theme update – though perhaps the passage from WP 3 to WP 4? Or perhaps the installation of the Quotemaster plugin?

In reply to: Can't insert 'Read more' link on pageThat sounds awesome, David, and just what I am looking for. I will definitely try what you recommend and look forward to a more effective display of my contents.
You have been incredibly helpful. Thank you so much for all your help.
With much gratitude and my very best wishes.

In reply to: Can't insert 'Read more' link on pageThank you so much David for all these solutions. Yes indeed, I am looking for more effective ways to display my columns. But can I add posts to my Columns page? Can one post on a page?
As for pdfs, I removed my manual ‘Read more’ tag and made the title clickable rather, so that Google Custom Search and Google don’t treat ‘Read more’ as the title of those pdf files. I hope that works in time. However, I have one remaining concern: the somewhat messy presentation of search results on Google Custom Search. Is there anything that can be done to improve that?
So grateful again, David.

In reply to: Can't insert 'Read more' link on pageHi David and thanks again.
Yes, I do need to use a page rather than a post. Here, on my site, is the page I am working on: https://drmarkdooley.com/?page_id=45
So far, I had used my own ‘Read more’ tag. Clicking on it linked to a pdf. I was not happy with this system, as Google saw ‘Read more’ as being the actual title of my columns!
To begin to address that, I changed the system by making the title of my columns clickable. But still, I’d prefer to have a ‘Read more’ tag as it is more enticing for readers.
Thanks so much again for helping out — really appreciate it.

In reply to: Can't insert 'Read more' link on pageHi again David. I found this: https://www.wpbeginner.com/wp-themes/fixing-the-read-more-tag-problem-in-wordpress-static-pages/
I would like to ‘use the following code inside the loop’, but please forgive the basic question: where is the loop? Where do I insert this?
Many thanks again for your help.

In reply to: Can't insert 'Read more' link on pageThat you very much David.
However, it is not on posts but on pages that I want to do this.
I have articles on a page for which I just want to display a teaser and entice the reader to ‘Read more’.
Does the method you point me to above apply to pages? If not, what I am to do?So many thanks again.
