In reply to: [WPML to MultilingualPress] WPML generates thousand of imagesHi chicho,
no worries. We took your thread as occasion to improve our readme.txt file to point it out, that we’re not responsible for WPML itself.
Kind regards

In reply to: [WPML to MultilingualPress] WPML generates thousand of imagesHi chicho
I am talking about WPML multilingual, dont know nothing about WPML to MultilingualPress, i did no even mention it.
The thing is, you’re actually posting into a forum which is all about ?WPML to MultilingualPress?. Your accusations are hitting the wrong people and cast a damning light on this tool.
Even though I can understand your frustration, please try to keep calm and address your issues to the right place: https://wpml.org/de/forums/forum/english-support/
Kind regards

In reply to: [WPML to MultilingualPress] WPML generates thousand of imagesHi chicho,
As always WPML, I dont understand how can you ask for money for updates.
We don’t ask for money for WPML. You’re addressing the wrong people and the wrong company here. Your criticism won’t have any effect on WPML itself here because we are not in contact with the company behind WPML.
This forum here is only about a developer tool, that is free of charge and should help people using WPML to migrate to another multilangual solution: MultilingualPress.
But before you use it, you should deeply understand what it does and how it have to be used!
Kind regards

In reply to: [WPML to MultilingualPress] WPML generates thousand of imagesHello chicho,
I feel sorry for the circumstances you had. Also we’ll do anything to help you – if we can.
In your four comments, you always refer to ?WPML?. Further, you wrote something about ?the last update?, so I’m not sure whether we’re talking about ?WPML to MultilingualPress?. This support forum is only about the plugin WPML to MultilingualPress which is a tool for developers to migrate sites from WPML to MultilingualPress. (MultilingualPress itself is a alternative solution for WordPress for multilingual sites.)
Please let me know whether your problems really come from WPML to MultilingualPress of from WPML itself. In the first case, we’re highly interested of helping you with your issue and investigating the problem with our plugin WPML to MultilingualPress.
In the last case I feel sorry because then we can’t do anything for you. We’re not responsible for WPML or involved in its development. A quick search brought this forum for support around WPML itself.
Kind regards

In reply to: [MultilingualPress] multipress with directory websiteHm, they don’t need to support MultilingualPress explicit as long as they use WordPress data structures like custom post types and custom taxonomies.

In reply to: [MultilingualPress] multipress with directory websiteOkay, please keep me informed about what they say. We’re always interested in making MultilingualPress as compatible as possible with other themes and plugins.

In reply to: [MultilingualPress] multipress with directory websiteWhen you change the site wordpress using the the different usermeta table and first site’s usermeta table not connected with 2nd site’s usermeta
This is just wrong when site describes a single site (formerly known as ?blog?) in a WordPress multisite installation (aka network). In a WordPress multisite installation [1] (optional core feature since 3.0), user and user-meta tables are global ones. That means a user is unique over the whole network and can be assigned to any site.

In reply to: [MultilingualPress] multipress with directory websiteNot sure about mixing them up. MultilingualPress is the product of marketpress.com – right?
Not exactly. MultilingualPress is a free plugin. Marketpress just sells an advanced support for MultilingualPress.
The theme I’m going to use is pointfinder. Items and reviews aren’t managed like posts in the backend.
Basically Mlp can deal with any WordPress Core datastructure notably custom post types and custom taxonomies. That means, it manages relations of posts (of any post type) and terms (of any taxonomy) between all linked sites.
So if the theme uses custom post types and custom taxonomies (and is multisite aware) you can use it together with MultilingualPress.

In reply to: [MultilingualPress] English flag not correctNo worries ??

In reply to: [MultilingualPress] English flag not correctHi emstudios,
not sure what flag do you expect for english but what MultilingualPress provides is the flag of england.
However, you can specify a custom image as flag in the MultilingualPress tab of the site’s settings.
Cheers

In reply to: [Search & Replace] upload max fileI don’t get it. You’re trying to upload a 2048MB file while your upload limit is set to 100M? As 2048M > 100M this cannot work, of course.

In reply to: [MultilingualPress] Wrong flag iconsHeya,
well, the thing with pt_BR is by design. We’re looking for the language instead of the region when specify the flag being used to represent the language. We know that has limits and thus you can specify your own flag URL for each site in the site’s settings.
In case of English, you see the English flag[1] but maybe expecting the Union Jack (which is the flag of GB).

In reply to: [MultilingualPress] Recommended permissions for translatorBUT if he clicks on the link, he will be REDIRECTED to the original entry in the german blog.
Yes, the dashboard widget currently shows post lists for every site not only for the current one. We’re planing to rework that widget but please do not expect this feature within the next view days ??
For the moment you should advice your translator to look for the correct list of posts inside the dashboard widget.

In reply to: [MultilingualPress] Recommended permissions for translatorBasically, it’s just WordPress multisite. If you want to grant your translator to have write access to all content in the English site, he/she sure has to have at least the role editor. I’ll take care and will update the documentation here.
2. All my existing posts are copied and set to status published. I read in a git issue, that the are supposed to be in draft mode? Is this correct?
When MLP creates a new site based on an existing one, it just copy and pastes the database tables and therefore the post status. If there’s an issue about that, then this behavior might change somewhen in the future. However, if you don’t want to have the new site to be public accessible, you can protect the site with a plugin like ?Authenticator?.
