In reply to: [The Events Calendar] images missing from widgetHi Leah,
I switched my theme to Twenty Twelve (instead of doing a preview) and the images were still not showing in the widget. This appears to be an issue with the plugin and not the theme I’m using.
I will try to install and implement the plugin on additional test instances of my sites to make absolutely sure it isn’t something else inherent on this particular site.
But I’m considering adding this feature to a client’s site and would prefer to know that the images are working before I do so. I know they want images with each event post to be visible.Thank you for your help.

In reply to: [The Events Calendar] images missing from widgetYes, I’m using 3.6.1. It stopped working after 3.6 was installed. It worked fine with my theme, which hasn’t been updated in months, until the plugin updated.
I also tried to view my site with Twenty Twelve with live preview, but the sidebars don’t show up. Same with Twenty Fourteen and Twenty Thirteen. Of course, if I actually change the theme, it tends to wipe out all my sidebars anyway, forcing me to rebuild everything. I’ll give it a shot again late tonight after hours when most people are off the site so that I don’t interrupt usage during the day.
melt – my blogs were installed a variety of ways over the years, both manually and through the ipower installer, so it doesn’t seem to be specific to a certain type of install. However, so far, one of my clients on iPower seems to be unaffected while all of my clients on other hosting services are completely unaffected.
This kind of thing has happened before many years ago when I found some scripts injected into the footer of my site’s home page. iPower claimed that I must have weak passwords and that someone got in to edit the pages when it was clearly not the case and I wasn’t the only one affected. At least last time it was only in one place. This affected all my posts and likely all of my revisions in order for it to appear 2683 times (I don’t have nearly that many posts).
By the way, does anyone have any news on what this script was supposed to do or how it might have affected my visitors? Has it caused any harm that anyone knows of so far?
Okay, not so worried anymore. Used a WordPress plugin called Search & Replace (version 2.6.1).
Did the job super fast even though it would always say that it never found anything when it searched. Just make sure any caching plugin is deactivated or you’ll never see the change.
My big worry now is that even though I’ve done this once today, what’s to stop the idiots from doing it again, especially since iPower doesn’t seem to believe it’s their problem?
I have the same problem on all of my sites (but not one of my subdomains, oddly). I’m afraid to contact iPower support for fear they’ll wipe away 5 years worth of work.
When I did a find and replace on the sql file, it found 2683 instances of that script. Yes, 2683 instances. Thank god I don’t post that often. ?? And that’s just one of my wordpress blogs. But the real problem comes in the importing because my sql file is 11385kb and mysqladmin only allows importing of file sizes up to 10,240kb. Do I just lose a huge chunk of data? And if I do, what gets lopped off? Old stuff? New stuff? Parts of anything and everything? I’m worried. Any advice other than getting off of ipower?

In reply to: How to change background colour?I know what I’m doing when it comes to editing CSS and the images (using photoshop) that make up the background for the default style. I’ve made it so that I can *supposedly* edit the template files within WP. However, whenever I change the body background from #d5d6d7 to #000000 or black, nothing happens. I even grab the css file and edit it in Dreamweaver and upload it, but it makes no difference. It’s like its not even looking at that css file for style information, although everything matches up (until i change it).
So the problem isn’t that I don’t know how to change the look, its that it won’t let me change it, even if I’ve made the changes every way I know how.
It’s really very frustrating. Is there some other component or area I need to change or unlock to let these updates go through? Thanks in advance.
