Forum: Fixing WordPress
In reply to: How could Featured Images BREAK images in Feedly's RSS feedI found a solution / work around. I installed the WP plugin “RS FeedBurner (v1.4.8; rs-feedburner/rs-feedburner.php)” to redirect my RSS Feed to Feedburner after I created an account there. Now my images appear in Feedly just as they should. If a Featured Image is not in the post –for instance if I use my logo as the Featured image– it doesn’t appear in the RSS Feed. No image is shown there, and I am fine with that.
OK thanks. I’m off in search of spreadsheet-like plugins.

In reply to: [RSS Image Feed] images do not appear in my Feedly RSS feedThat doesn’t really help me. What you will find if you look at the feed from https://www.s2pmarketsignal.com/WordPress/feed is that images only appear on posts from February 2015 and earlier. I edited my March and April posts to define Featured Images in each. I have been trying WordPress plugins for RSS Feed images and can get teh images to appear in my browser feed, they don’t appear in Feedly anymore.
the problem is that its not possible to remove all settings of all plugins from the DB before deactivating them, so its not possible to isolate the source of the problem.
I think this should be a standard feature of WP for debugging issues, but it seems its not.
OK. I disabled all Security Settings and all Firewall Settings from WP All in One WP Security, then disabled it. No change in the RSS feed, so you’re off the hook. ??
No cache plugin here.
Remember that I saw the issue on my feedly rss feed BEFORE upgradign to Wp 4.2.
What would cause images and Post titles to not appear in the rss feed? (That’s what’s happening. The whole feed isn’t gone. Its just missing those items.)
Thanks for the quick reply, mbrsolution.
Prior to noticing the rss issue I 1) updated 3 themes I am not using, 2) updated WordPress from 4.1.2 to 4.2, and 3) installed one new 4.1.2 compatible plugin, FancyBox for WordPress.
I tried Disabling the WP Security plugin and the rss looks the same.
I’m afraid I didn’t document the WP Security setting changes I made.
I did notice via my iPhone feedly app that my rss feed had lost all images before I upgraded WP to 4.2, so I don’t think that was the cause.

In reply to: [Make] RSS brokenAs a follow up… I replaced ALL WordPress files and the rss feed issue remains, proving that the source of the problem is in the WordPress database.

In reply to: [Make] RSS brokenHi Corey. No I wasn’t looking at feedly. I only looked there in the beginning. I always look at https://s2pmarketsignal.com/WordPress/feed to check the status of the feed after making any changes.
My comments pertaining to the root problem above are based purely on deductive logic. All the Make theme files have been replaced with completely “virgin” new ones, so all that remains of the original Make install and configuration are the database entries.
And yes, I again checked to verify –as I have repeatedly– that changing the theme temporarily from Make to something else restores the rss feed.

In reply to: [Make] RSS brokenWow. I guess the root problem must be in the Make Theme portion of the database, because I renamed the Make folder .bak and uploaded new (freshly downloaded) Make theme files into themes/make folder and the issue is still there.

In reply to: [Make] RSS brokenThanks for you analysis, Corey.
Yes the feedly link no longer works for me either, so as you say, it was probably using a cached version earlier, right after Make was installed. ??
I wonder if there is a way that I can fully re-install Make without losing any of my customizations?

In reply to: [Make] RSS brokenok. that’s done. that line is commented out in that file.

In reply to: [Make] RSS brokenCorey, when I had debug on, the rss feed code was the same as displayed above by both you and me. There was no php error showing.
I’m turning wp_debug on again now.Forum: Themes and Templates
In reply to: [Make] RSS brokenif the problem is a plugin, how is it possible to fix it simply by changing the theme from Make to anything else?
Forum: Themes and Templates
In reply to: [Make] RSS brokena) WP v4.1.1
b) nope. I did notice one plugin was throwing error messages in the admin console, so I uninstalled it, then reset the debug back to false.
