In reply to: FontsYou cannot use style.css to change h3 into h2, to do that you need to know where the tag is located. If it is in the header, you need to edit header.php, if it is in the sidebar, then sidebar.php, the body, then index.php etc.
These can all be done by going to presentation–theme editor.
You should find what you need there.

In reply to: Can’t get additional site to publishOn the shared server that I use, I log in and I have various options (e.g. to show domain as for sale/parked etc.). One of which is to have a holding page. If this is set, it does not matter what is on the server, only the holding page is available to the internet.
For thewelcome to the future home of ...
, did you actually type this or was it created for you?
Or, the server might be set up to serve index.html before index.php and hence since you have both, the index.html is shown, avoiding your wordpress.
Can you link directly to any other files on the server? e.g.domain.com/testimage.jpg
A bit more information would help someone help you.Forum: Fixing WordPress
In reply to: Updates Not Being SentIt is possible that the recipients have had their mail settings changed and that the mail is now blocked. Have you checked this?
Have there been any changes to php mail settings on the server?
Are you running the latest version of subscribe2, ie. 2.2.2 and wordpress 2.0.3, and have you installed any other plugins since it last worked? If so, uninstall them and see if that fixes it.
Also, can you still see the e-mail addresses of your subscribers in the management area, or is it blank?Forum: Fixing WordPress
In reply to: How can I get “index.php?a=cat&cc=20.html” to result in a 404 error.I shouldn’t worry about it, I have just tried appending
index.php?a=cat&cc=20.html
to several wordpress blogs, and all returnindex.php
on its own.
Google lists your pages fine and in time the pages on your site not linked to will evaporate, it should not be a problem.
Google does not edit listings down if it thinks they are bad, it only applies its algorithm. Of course it does ban some sites it sees as bad, but since it lists some of your pages are listed this is not the case.

In reply to: FontsDo you mean the you want an h2 tag instead of an h3 tag?
Or do you mean that the size of the h1 tag is 3em and you want it to be 2em?
Either way you need to edit the theme files, either header.php or style.css.Forum: Fixing WordPress

In reply to: Editing pages creates extra whitespace and strange charactersIt would help if you would provide a pointer to a page where this is occuring.
- Are you using the rich text editor?
- Where exactly do the extra tags appear?
- Are you accidently inserting extra carriage returns when you create a post?

In reply to: Does this design display correctly?I am using Seamonkey 1.0.2 on a fairly slow connection and I could not read any post text until the full page had loaded and the background appeared. I do suggest cutting down the size of the page to load faster.
If someone has a problem with images they will see black text on black text, because the white background comes from the background image. Perhaps you should change the way the page works so that the whole background comes from that image (including the left hand side black). That way if the image does not load (or until it does), they will see black text on white background.Forum: Fixing WordPress
In reply to: LivingOS Alpha, Tim HydeIf you link to his website, you are more likely to get a response.LivingOS. If you look at the css file for the them you will see where the dropdown menu comes from.
His theme, on which my site is based, uses an HTML Dog improvement on an alistapart article. The HTMLdog page contains substantial information on the menu which should answer your question.Your request has been answered. In case you had not already realised there is a plugin:

In reply to: problems running under php/fastcgiThis solved the 404.php problem I had immediately. My server was running fastcgi with PHP5. I cannot believe how quickly that solved the problem that I thought was caused by an incorrect .htaccess file.
Thank you very much for this solution. Can I vote for your ticket to prioritise it?
