By default, WordPress does not display sidebar for pages. so we have set full width for pages.

You can take advantage of ‘Bulk Actions’ to set template to all pages.
Steps are: Pages > All Pages > Select All > Edit > Apply > Template > Page with Right Sidebar > Update.

Seems theme is working perfectly but you can set a page or blog posts for front page. here: Settings > Reading > Your homepage displays

You can add tag on post edit screen, here: Posts > All Posts > Edit > Tags.

You can add tag like ‘Featured’ and you can add this tag under ‘Front Page Slider Option’. now all posts containing ‘Featured’ tag will be display in slider.
