thanks mackica , i’m retiring for today ,ill check it out tomorrow i actually think i made some great progress , check out my blog page

i found out that on every page in the template on the right side under PAGE ATTRIBUTES there’s an option for a right sidebar , choose that , then the widgets start to show when you customize in appearance

what i also did is went to customize and deselected the blog page from being the posts page and there it is , i now have a sidebar to the right on my blog page and i managed to get the description to be shown as well by adding a ” post loop” widget in the row

thank you for your fast response , i tried messing around with the side bar after reading your earlier comment about working with that , luckily i always copy and paste the original in the note pad before i change anything

when i search about adding the sidebar people often write about a process that starts with adding a file named functions.php , but to where ? on which folder ?
