In reply to: [Auto Affiliate Links] Permission errorsIt happened 3 times in succession, then I had to turn it off, it was killing the site load. I’ll turn it back on and test. With the “‘” issue, We are just using Anthony Thomas instead of De’Anthony Thomas. Not very high tech, but it works. So does the hyphen fix btw.

In reply to: [Auto Affiliate Links] Permission errorsI found that error in the logs while the site was running.
The import was done a month or so ago. The import was 145 items. No problem with the ‘ character, I’ve got a solution working.

In reply to: [Auto Affiliate Links] Permission errorsBrand new error with latest update:

In reply to: [Auto Affiliate Links] Permission errorsImport worked fine. Had a long list to bring in. I haven’t done an export yet.

In reply to: [Auto Affiliate Links] Very Very GoodIn the continuing saga – support is very good and responsive.

In reply to: [Auto Affiliate Links] Permission errorsOk, just gave it a try. No more error, but the fields don’t update. Tried comma separated values, tried replacing existing text with a single work, nothing. Because of the problems with hyphenated (Ifo Ekpre-Olomu) or punctuated (De’Anthony Thomas) names, being able to link/replace these is important.
I appreciate your help and this very cool plugin.

In reply to: [Auto Affiliate Links] Permission errorsYes, menu shows up, can set options, but when I go to test or sync it starts to process then gives me a blank screen. Can reopen the settings and any changes are there, but won’t run. I’ve tried monitoring it in the browser (Chrome dev tools) – starts to show then blank. Nothing shows in my server logs. Definitely puzzled.

In reply to: [Auto Affiliate Links] Very Very GoodOF course now that I go to make changes after the last update, permission errors. It works for import, but doesn’t work for edits….argh.

In reply to: [YOP Poll] Database ErrorsMysql identifies it as a corrupt table with an incompatible format – can’t repair it. Setting the option_name didn’t fix. Hated to lose the data, but dropped the offending tables (3 of them), disabled then re-enable the plugin – let it restore the tables. No more errors…or log data.
This is a good plugin, unfortunate hiccup, but will keep using.

In reply to: [CDN Sync Tool] Alternative fork for this pluginAny news on the update?
Honestly had been waiting until it became a 4 – 5 star plugin. I try not to do bad reviews, as a developer, when you see a bad choice in an update – too early release or something, I feel for the dev, look for a solution. But when the Dev gets nasty – no sympathy – happy to return the favor. If you were going to go to all the effort to create an update to a promising piece of software, why take no thought for anyone who may have deeply integrated your plugin? Why have such a thin skin that you alienate your potential client base and break trust? A large very happy install base of free software has made more than one companies fortunes. This may not be a life changing piece of software, but with a large enough install base, certainly enough to keep you in beer and copies of “How To Win Friends” for the foreseeable future.
As for your comment: Thank you. With your shortsighted approach to public relations and community building, I’ll take that as a compliment. If you want people to love you, you shouldn’t be a developer.
