Now this is bloody weird. It’s not there so I try your suggestion…no change. Decide to try and produce a screenshot and switch to fullscreen mode and the categories list appears! It stays there when I switch back but when I try to edit another post it vanishes again until I switch to full screen…as I said bloody weird!
btw I’m using Avant if thats anything to do with it and I’ve heard all the stuff about switching to Firefox but I’ve tried both and I really like Avant.

If I’m changing the smilies what do I need to do to output them? I understand I can just change the image file to another of the same name but what if I want to use different shortcuts?

Root…even if you don’t have the plugin you can still read the rest of the page…or at least you could with the html pre-wordpress version….will have wait and see if it works in the future. As SilverBlue said its not hard to get the plugin and use it anyway.

Cheers Podz….that sorted it, there were two carriage returns at the end of the plugin code in the php file. Got it working but don’t like the way it looks now so gonna deactivate it again! ??
