I am experiencing the same problem.
here is a test page:

the external mp3 url i entered is:

[audio src="https://archive.org/download/MonkeyManBlues/Monkey%20Man%20Blues.mp3" /]

but the seemingly uneditable and non-working url the player contains now is:

[audio src="https://publicdomain4u.com/files/https://archive.org/download/MonkeyManBlues/Monkey%20Man%20Blues.mp3" /]

I should chime in that my site is now running a different Theme entirely, so the links I provided for examples above are no longer relevant.

I do look forward to anyone’s suggestions re: making dynamic areas in the header!

a footnote to this –

ANY way of getting control of the header area, so that it is not one solid area of content with nav + title + description, but instead, three separate controllable areas, would solve my problem! Is there a widgetized header plugin somewhere?

I hope there are some other folks seeking this functionality as well. After wrestling with it a bit, I just thought pulling the sidebars up, along with their widget areas, would do the trick. But maybe there’s even a better way? Any idea?

yay! glad i found this, as i had a request to put a “Next Blog” loop in some related blogs, using the top page nav, thusly. the template solution posted by ClaytonJames solved it handily! thank you =)

really. this seems like it would be a very simple and standard feature. wordpress by far the best blog / CMS software i’ve used. but no cute user pics! what gives? waaaah ??

i neglected to mention – this happens in Firefox, both on OS X and Win XP. symptom doesn’t show in Safari or IE 6.

yow, that solves it! i was having the same issue, using Safari / OSX, switched to Firefox and edited the page and posts where i was having this problem, that fixed it. thanks Ronin898.
