I have tried that, but if the account is a hotmail account then the chat message will not be delivered to the destination unless the skype name is prefixed with

live:

using that prefix or

@hotmail.com

suffix will deliver the message.

I have found that I can use the target of:

live:skype_name

instead of full email (if the live account is merged with Skype account), but using a colon also causes parser error.
