Noted. php-gd is installed and WP is only complaining about missing imagick. ??

Thank you for your help. ??

Thanks for the info, but I still cannot get it to work. ??

What is the downside to not having imagick for WP? (I’m very new to WP.)

Maybe I’ll see if I can get imagick working on CentOS 8 Stream and then move my WP sites over to it.

Thanks for the info. I have a better understanding now. I’m going to do a little research on what is involved with manually updating WordPress because I would like to limit write access by the apache service on our public webservers.

As for PHP-FPM, I know very little about it. All I know is that on Oracle Linux 8 it runs as a service in conjunction with the apache service.

Hmm. Okay. How about if I just restrict access to admin.php, index.php, menu.php, and whichever .php is responsible for handling admin login in the wp-admin/ directory? If someone can’t log into the administrative site, restricting access to the other pages like edit.php and users.php wouldn’t be necessary, right? Anything I’m overlooking or possibly overthinking it?

“No such thing as too much security” is my motto. LOL. Just kidding, but you get the idea.
