Okay I think that I have managed to change the wp-config.php file and I can now get into wordpress.
However all of my images are not displaying and the theme that was installed has gone so I have temporarily added another theme.
Any idea how I can get my images to upload please

You should be grateful that you are not one of their customers.
The customer support is shocking.
If they had explained that it could have had serious consequences I wouldn’t have done it.
I explained to them that I was a novice and no suggestion was made to back up any files.
Well I can kiss them goodbye, I won’t be renewing my subscription

Do I get into the word press root folder through host papa?

Yes thank you I did manage to get the links working again. Instead of using the short link I used the full link and tweaked a few of the plugins and this seems to have resolved the issue.

Yes that has worked I am up and running again but still most of the content is missing

I have deleted the database from mySQL but I still have the backup and I have tried to create a new database with the same name as the original but I get the message database already installed.Totally baffled

Managed to change it back by editing the database

Ah, I have found it in root folder.I will now follow the step by step guidleines now to see if I can make this work
