In reply to: [Easy Forms for Mailchimp] instal plugin on wordpress.COM site?Hi and thanks for your replies. I’ve been logged in to my client’s WP and Mailchimp sites from the get-go, and gotten the Mailchimp embed code for the form from her Lists section, as per their instructions. And their instructions on the “adding signup forms” page which I used at the start, unsuccessfully, say the code can be pasted anywhere that html is accepted including in pages, posts and widgets. But it doesn’t work there, and when questioned they say it has to be added to the stylesheet, but give no information on how to access said stylesheet! They are not quick to answer emails, so I and client are still hanging waiting for a reply to these questions…. The fact is, the Mailchimp form WAS working on the site, and it should have been a simple matter to replace it…. 7 unpaid hours later, I’m still trying…

In reply to: [WordPress Landing Pages] installed but not in plugins list in WP adminHi David,
I don’t understand. I got the plugin from the WordPress repository. Could you please explain the steps you are referring to, because I thought I did it the right way (eg. went to www.remarpro.com, chose the plugins page, searched for a landing page plugin, downloaded the zip file, uploaded it into my website’s public html directory -> plugins folder, expanded it, went back to wordpress admin to the list of installed plugins…. at which point all plugins that are now installed in my website plugins folder show up in the list to be activated).
thanks,

In reply to: [Widget Logic] Can't get the widget to work on select pages onlyTHANKS HIGGINSSM!
Great that you shared with us; I’ll do that for my site too.May I suggest something for your site from a marketing perspective? On your Laundry Soap page, the BUY section is way down the bottom. How about putting the BUY section at the very top of your widget, so the call-to-action is instantly visible to busy customers?
Then SUBSCRIBE underneath that.
Once they’ve gotten to your laundry soap, my feeling is they would no longer be prioritizing archives and blog posts, which just distract them away from buying your product.Forum: Fixing WordPress
In reply to: adding .htaccess to wp-admin kills siteSongdogtech, it was guvnrDOTcom’s advice, not mine.
I did not want to start re-writing files because I don’t know enough about it, so in the end I just uninstalled and reinstalled plugins until BPS put in the proper htaccess files automatically.Forum: Plugins
In reply to: [Widget Logic] Can't get the widget to work on select pages onlyHi Alanft, ah. So how do I do the simple thing of telling a particular widget to appear only on one particular static page, page #2?

In reply to: [Widget Logic] Can't get the widget to work on select pages onlyMe too! I used Widget Logic on my previous sites but it doesn’t work on the new one. There’s something I don’t understand. Previously, I did not have to change the coding in my wordpress files. In my Dashboard under the widget text box I just had to put the page number in the Widget Logic box and the widget would appear only on that page! Isn’t that how it’s supposed to work for the simple job of displaying the widget on a particular page? Why now all this coding necessary? (which I don’t know how to do yet)

In reply to: Fatal error: Call to undefined function load_textdomain()Hi Jonradio,
While I was on hold with the HostGator tech support, I got a new copy of wp-sample.config.php, renamed it, entered database details and got new security keys. Saved, uploaded, and bingo! Working. I have the wp admin setup page now.
I do appreciate your sticking with me on this one and helping out!

In reply to: Fatal error: Call to undefined function load_textdomain()Hi, thanks, I just sent them an email with what you said. I’m a bit puzzled though: couple months ago I built 2 wordpress websites on HostGator using WP 3.5.1. If their version of pHp was at fault, those websites should not have worked either?
