In reply to: WP 3.0.4 upgrade changed my blog designSort of …
Copy the folder that the theme is in and name it (the folder) something else. Then edit/upload your theme, and select it in the Appearances tab.

In reply to: site doesn’t work with www – does work withoutYou’ll need to talk to your web host about this.
Normally, sites will load with and without the “www” — but that has to be set up on the server.
Oh, I see that the original poster has redirected the www to the non-www, so it’s working.

In reply to: WP 3.0.4 upgrade changed my blog designThe idea is to copy whatever theme you wish, rename it, and then edit and upload that theme. That way you don’t run a chance of overwriting your edited theme when you upgrade.
Note: in the theme folder, there’s a style.css file. At the top of that file is information that will distinguish it from other themes in the Appearances tab of your WordPress admin area … just update that so that you can tell the difference.

In reply to: Problems with 3.0.4 upgradeTrue, what Ipstenu said.
Normally when FTPing files to a site, everything gets overwritten; however, WP has enough files and folders that sometimes something gets missed. Better to delete and upload.

In reply to: Blog Formatting Wrong: No SpacesOkay. See on your https://curtisamongfriends.com/home/about-2/ page where the “paragraphs” don’t have spaces below them? That’s because they’re not actually paragraphs.
Those are called “lists” … first, the bulleted list (the “paragraphs” with the dot to the left) and the numbered list (with the 1, 2 and 3 to the left).
Changing the style for the <p> tag (the paragraph tag) will not affect these, because they’re not paragraphs. You’ll need to change the styles for the lists:
<ul> is the "unordered" list ... the bullets <ol> is the "ordered" list ... the numbers
If you’re going to be doing this yourself, you’d be best off if you learned a bit about Cascading Style Sheets (such as your brown.css), so that you’re not hampered each time by the next thing you don’t know. This can be a bit tricky, but I recommend https://htmldog.com … start with the CSS Beginner section.

In reply to: Blog Formatting Wrong: No SpacesJust a note, Curtisamongfriends — those are not paragraphs (made with the <p> tag, but bulleted lists, which are made with lists tags, as alchymyth mentioned.

In reply to: wordpress webmasters please help…..The error message states what the problem is: “error in database connection”.
If the site works correctly sometimes, but occasionally there’s an “error in database connection”, then there’s a web host problem. Call your web host.

In reply to: An error during installationI’ve never seen such a message.
It seems to indicate that the database is missing the correct tables — which are set up in the database during the WP installation. But there has to be a database already. Did you set up a database before you installed WordPress?

In reply to: Not Found – suddenly – all pagesThat’s odd. How old is the blog? Google is not showing any pages from it.
Is there anything (any posts) in the database?

In reply to: go to the page and it is blank! ah help!> how do I upload the files?
With an FTP program. Something like WS_FTP will do. However, from your description, I can’t tell what you’ve done. Is WP reinstalled? If so, you don’t need to upload anything.
> Also, it will not let me log in, i put in the correct password/ admin name and nothing. help?
Sounds like you either don’t have the right login information, or you changed something that is causing a problem. Without knowing more, it’s hard to guess.

In reply to: go to the page and it is blank! ah help! You’d typically upload the files (not the database) with an FTP program.
