In reply to: WordPress’ Export suggestionThis is how I exported links. A friend told me about it.
1. Go to https://www.yourname.com/blog/wp-links-opml.php
2. When you press Enter, you will get an XML file of your links.
3. Do a Save Page As and save that page as an XML file. Call it blogroll.opml
4. Go to the Blogroll section of WordPress and click on Import Links.
Select the blogroll.opml file and click on the button Import OPML
File.
5. I just tried this with mine and it worked like a charm.Hope this helps!

In reply to: Trackback and Pingback not doing anything…I thought I had fixed not being able to do trackbacks, but I haven’t after all.
Cliff – what has helped me be able to send trackbacks to my other site is to make sure the trackback address has /trackback/ at the end – I hadn’t realized I needed that.
But I can’t figure out how to do it. I can send a trackback from Simpletracks if I use my blog address but not if I use the post address …
I am looking for ideas too.
Thank you!

In reply to: Trackback and Pingback not doing anything…I think the wonderful guy, Adam Kalsey, at SimpleTracks figured it out.
I wasn’t doing it right on from one of my blogs to the other by not having the /trackback/ on the end. I am still not sure if I am supposed to add /trackback/ when another site has /trackback/ in the middle of their trackback.
But Adam figured out that the site that wanted my trackback was making me do a captcha check and … by trackback that wasn’t going to happen. So whew! It wasn’t me (hopefully) – so now I need to see if a friend wants a trackback to test.
So thank you!! and good luck!!

In reply to: Trackback and Pingback not doing anything…I am having problems too … I started a month ago with WordPress 2.1.2 and a few days ago upgraded to 2.1.3. I am administrator of 2 WordPress blogs so I can test that way.
I self-ping fine. I ping to her blog fine and I have done those things since the beginning. I think I have been pinging other places fine but not sure.
I have this morning gotten it right to trackback from one of our blogs to the other. (I was using the url when I clicked on url – and so it had no /tracbacks/ at the end) (this site helped me figure that out https://www.tamba2.org.uk/wordpress/ping/)
I have been trying for a few days to trackback to a typepad site who wants a trackback. She has gotten a trackback from another typepad site.
But I haven’t been able to do it with hers .. I used her url that was given for trackbacks for that post and I also added a /trackback/ on the end in case that was a problem.
I have spent hours looking at support posts and I don’t know what to do from here …
any help is appreciated!

In reply to: Kubrick Special Feeds Will Not ValidateI hate to be so confused here ..
The first thing I did before I even posted was go change to that FeedBlitz just picked up the general page, not the feed. So i belive that part is done.
This is related to the link above – I didn’t know anything about the validator. yesterday I signed up for FeedBlitz and it delivered the “updated page” just fine this morning.
Then I realized I could feed it so it gave people more … I got my first feed from another site this morning and saw the difference.
I am not sure which thing I am supposed to click to get what you said you got. Some of the themes have rss on the side … I guess I put it at the top. I bet I moved it instead of duplicating it so it could be at the top.
So, are you talking about rss or the FeedBlitz … I can follow directions once I get what I am supposed to do … but I am a little lost as to actually where we are at the moment.
Thank you.
for ease
