Sorry, but that’s really not logical.

I have my own filing system. All images are IN the wp-content/gallery folder. But inside that folder I have my other folders organized. And when I want to add new gallery, I want it to the path wp-content/gallery/folder_1/folder_11, then the other gallery to have path wp-content/gallery/folder_7/folder_22
But locking the ability to change the path to the new gallery you are setting unstructured folders inside the wp-content/gallery folder (or whatever folder is chosen in the settings).

Please open the option of changing the path to the galleries inside the wp-content/gallery folder.

I have the same problem and really hope somebody can help!

This is very inconvenient. I don’t want NextGEN gallery to choose path for me, I have my own path, which every time is different and I was able with previous version of NextGEN to change it. Updated to the new version today – that option disappeared. Please put it back or let me know how else one can chance the path in the new version of NextGEN.

Were you able to find the way to chance the path in case you need?
Previous version of Nextgen let me change the path, but now I can’t. Wonder where this can be amended?
