In reply to: Two sites, only one has the plug-inThis sounds like you’ve two independent WordPress installs, not two blogs/sites created using Multisite, so is probably one for this forum.
Your user role limits the options you see. Check that the login you’re using has Admin role, not just Editor or below.Forum: Networking WordPress
In reply to: Importing content is messing up post orderDo we definitely know whether the post order is being messed up by the import process? You don’t say how you know that it’s the import, and it may be that the problem is happening during the export.
Can you confirm if the dates are correct in the WordPress export file or not? If they’re not, next step might be to do the export with all plugins disabled.
Are the symptoms similar to those reported here?
Everything works fine if I RSS import 59 posts at a time. However when I try to do import 60 or more, the publish date reverts to 1/1/1970 for a certain portion of the items.

In reply to: www.domain.com works, domain.com doesn'thttps://inquarta.com resolves to sign-up.
When this happens, the URL it goes to is this: https://www.inquarta.com/wp-signup.php?new=inquarta.com
So for some reason, it thinks that “inquarta.com” is not part of the domain name, but is what you might want to call a new blog.In trying to see why that might be, I’ve notice that attempts to ping inquarta.com get replies from premedjumpstart.com.
ping https://www.inquarta.com
PING inquarta.com (70.32.120.180) 56(84) bytes of data.
64 bytes from premedjumpstart.com (70.32.120.180): icmp_seq=1 ttl=49 time=136 msNow wondering if you’ve got the inquarta.com domain properly installed on the server? I’m wondering if you’re forwarding it or something?

In reply to: Dashboard "Right now" widget missing upload space info? Thanks ipstenu, that clue pointed me in the right direction.
The Site upload space check box (“Limit total size of files uploaded to …”) under Super Admin > Options > Upload settings had become unchecked, and I hadn’t noticed. Fixing that restored the missing upload space info.

In reply to: One WordPress installation to manage several websites !!!Can I run several domains in one installment?
You can do this, too, with donncha and wpmuguru’s Domain Mapping Plugin. You’ll need your WP install to be in the root directory; a subdirectory won’t work.
Must the sites be in webhosting account or can I have Several webhosting accounts?
Usually they’re on one server, under one hostign account, with the WordPress files and user uploads in that account’s server directories, and all the blog content in the database.

In reply to: Multisite: Installed to root – site won't displayIf there’s no wildcard in place to catch any host (subdomain) people may choose, you’ll need to manually add an individual host (subdomain) DNS CNAME record for each site. Try adding a CNAME record for test1.domain.com – that should fix your test site.
Is this likely to be due to a permissions issue with the wp-content/blog.dir ?
You don’t say why you think it might, but it’s very unlikely; that directory is only used for the blogs’ upload directories.
The directory should be named blogs.dir, though, so check that first.
Edit, Backend and Visit all require the URL to be successfully rewritten according to the rules in your .htaccess file. It’s probably worth checking that’s correctly configured – and that it can be read.Forum: Networking WordPress
In reply to: Can Multisite have multiple admin email addresses?Don’t think you can do that, possibly because a distribution list will do the trick.

In reply to: How to install multisite at home?… and it seems there’s no reason why you can’t make your test system a subdomain install, as long as you add an appropriate subdomain entry in your hosts file for each blog. Just found an example.

In reply to: Aggregating Recent Posts to Parent Site in Multisite InstallMaybe take a look at adding BuddyPress on top of your multi-site network? With that, you can go further with an “Activity stream” showing latest posts, comments and more. Other widgets can be used to show who’s currently, or was recently, online. I use it this way at edubuzz.org.

In reply to: Error with the plugin digress.itThe installation instructions for digress.it state:
The plugin will automatically create a link to your wp-content/themes directory, so make sure your web server has write permission on the themes directory….
Could this explain the “not accessible” error?

In reply to: Error with the plugin digress.itThis is a php problem somewhere. If it’s not the plugin, it’s somewhere else. You haven’t changed any other php file, have you? In particular, by inadvertently adding anything (e.g. a blank line) after a closing ?> tag?
