    Hi,

That’s what Cleanup Interval option is for in that type of cases. If your DB capacity is limited set that option to 1 year, 3 months or 30 days or something that suites you. This will remove daily visits data older then specified. It will not touch total, yearly or monthly ones. It should be enough to make a significant difference as daily data is a vast majority of data stored.

    Hi all,

After the recent fixes Download Attachments should be available again.

    Hi,

We’ve been informed about a security issue. We’re working on a fix – the upcoming release should bring it back to the plugins directory.

    Hi,

Nothing has changed when it comes to the counting or display methods that could have an impact like that. Can you explain a bit how things are configured? What is the method you use – PHP, Rest API or Javascript? Did you install any additional plugin or changes something related to caching? What views are affected – just the display on the frontend or the data you have in the dashboard (or both)?

    Hi,

This is an expected behavior if you use Javascript or REST api counter mode. It is a good method if your site is using heavy page caching which could affect the accuracy if PHP mode was used.

The Pro version of PVC provides another – Fast Ajax counter method that makes same number of requests, but the resources used are much, much smaller as it does not require loading entire WP admin like with admin-ajax request.

So the idea is, that depending on your WP intallation and hosting enviroment you can pick a method that works for you best.

PVC works with any caching plugin if you use Rest API or Javascript counter mode. Try to use it first, then review.

    Hi,

Yes it does. It limits number of visitors sessions in the Basic plan in a 30 days cycle – it doesn’t stop operating so end user does not see a difference, but important compliance features like Autoblocking and Consent logs storage becomes disabled.

You can have a look at a basic plans comparison here https://cookie-compliance.co/pricing/

    Hi,

Can you share your site URLs please? We’ll be able to have a look at it this way

    Hi,

This is not coming from PVC plugin – it does not create a table of that or similar name.

    Hi,

    And thanks for your question.

The cleanup interval removes the daily views data only. It does not affect weekly, monthly, yearly or total views data for posts/pages as these are never removed.

The views count in the WP admin, as displayed in the list table or inside a given post, is always showing total views.

The views count in the frontend can be controlled in Display page of PVC. In the regular version of the plugin it is showing total views, in the Pro you have a choice of what time period should be taken into account.

    Hi,

This is because in order to comply with GDPR and other privacy regulations our Cookie Compliance Autoblocking feature does not allow any 3rd-party services to run without consent. It is not a bug or a compatibility issue.

In the context of GDPR and privacy regulations Google Analytics is not allowed to perform visitor tracking without a visitor consent. So that the data collected does not include all the visits. Google Analytics 4 is made in a way to target that and give you results based on statistical methodology, without having a full set of data.

You can disable Autoblocking entirely using the option in the WP plugin settings and let Google Analytics work without a consent but it’s not what we would recommend.

    Hi,

reCaptcha is one of the Google’s services that (as most of their free tools) is used for tracking. Because of that it is blocked by Cookie Compliance Autoblocking feature out of the box and it’s only triggered when user set’s their consent at least at 2nd (Balanced) level.

If your organization is under regulations that do not require 3rd party services blocking and you don’t have EU visitors you can disable that.

    Hi,

Thanks for your question. We don’t have a comparison chart yet – maybe it’s a good idea to generate one to simplify exposing the differences. There are quite may of them now, and far more are coming.

But for example the Pro version allows you to count other types of content besides posts or pages allowing you to get more reliable data on the number of page views. It also makes it possible to significantly speed up and optimize the resources required for the operation of the plugin (Fast Ajax counter mode, Object Cache support).

In addition, it includes Reports, which are completely unavailable in the basic version – i.e. the possibility to obtain detailed information on the number of page views in a given time period, or on the most popular content for a day, month, year or any other period. It enables the export of generated reports to CSV or XML files, etc.

Actually, when you have the basic version, you can see which options are not available, which means that they are only activated in the Pro version.

Thanks. We’ve not had a report on that before but for sure will have a look at it and let you know or provide a fix in the upcoming release of the plugin.
