I have used this feature many times and yes even if the skip-registering is checked and you tick the other option to delete the old unregistered sizes then yes this plugin does delete those extra unregistered images.

I have used WebP Express on many websites and this plugin was successfully able to replace JPGs and PNGs with WebPs on all the browsers which support WebP images.

I still upload JPG/PNG and the plugin itself converts them to WebP and replace the image URL.

These scripts are not needed on the front-end of my website so this is just unused code and extra bytes and I want to dequeue them.

When it comes to performance, every byte counts.

Google want us to make sites faster and lighter and we can only do this together (Plugin developers and theme developers).
