But, my name is still black (just a text string) whereas yours is blue with a link.

Have a try with the plugin Bulk Optimize.
It will make your images lighter.
It’s a good start.

Sometimes, it happens to me when both images have the same exact name.
Try to change the name.

What if you just delete the elements which allow users to post comments. Like the button & the fields in the code (comment.php) in your editor.
