I added an icon for “icon + text” style. Replace:
<span>Vk.com</span>
with:
<span style="background-image:url(&quot;https://vk.com/images/vk16.png&quot;);">Вконтакте</span>

All installed on my blog themes uses float for “alignleft” and “alignright”: my theme, twenty-eleven theme, default wordpress theme.
