I left you a 5 stars-review, I hope you appreciate its (absolutely deserved) content.
I don’t leave reviews often, but this time I felt I had to.

Not only for your good work, but also for your prompt reaction to suggestions.

Just wanted to let you know that you’ve done a very good job on this!!! ^_^
And the UI of the eyesonly block in post edit area is awesome!
The granularity of the access control is amazing.

And for those who use some membership plugins, the possible uses are endless.
I’m currently playing with it, I’ll let you know if I find any bugs.

Feature suggestion: if you could make it work on BBP forums and BP posts, you’d have coded the ultimate plugin for targeted/hidden content.

(In fact, I think nobody cares about BP, as it should have other means to set post privacy… but laser-targeted forum posts would be cool, as I found out on a side project of mine)

Hi, I had the same exact problem.
I was going to dig into the code and the db, when I stumbled upon this thread, so it seems worth to try asking.

Your solution doesn’t seem to work for me.
    Not as-is, at least.

Maybe it’s a dumb question, but are the custom fields EXACTLY as reported?
I created 5 inputs, 3 of them are the custom fields, namely:

    Your Name
    Title, set as cpt Testimonial

    Your testimonial
    Body

    Job, position
    Custom field: “_byline”

    Website
    Custom field: “_url”

    Your email
    Custom field: “_gravatar_email”

After submission, a new testimonial is correctly created, but the custom fields are not.
    Any suggestion?

Thanks for the suggestion, I’ll try that!
I didn’t notice it… If I will need help, I’ll write again on that plugin’s support section.

Keep on with the good work! ^_^

Hi guys, I second the request for a documentation.

I’d contact you via email, but what I’d say is “how does it work? what should I do?”… so an email would be basically useless.

Any news? I couldn’t find instructions, and I don’t feel like trying to guess, on an almost finished production website. Thanks. ??

Thanks for your interest David, that’s what I call “caring about the users”! ??

I thought your plugin had something to do with it, since Shortcode Reference showed an error only about mla shortcodes.

Apparently, I was wrong. Or at least, it’s not your code’s fault.
It’s early evening here, so I’ll write to the other dev in some hours.
Hopefully the other he will advise soon.

If not, well, too bad… that’s a good plugin, but Media Library Assistant is more useful for me, so I’ll manage to work without Shortcode Reference, if I have to. ??

    Thanks again. Great Support! ^^

Hello, this is just to let you know that, apparently, after the last update there is a compatibility issue with the useful “Shortcode Reference Plugin“.

In the shortcode reference panel, I got this message:

    ——-
    Fatal error: Uncaught exception 'ReflectionException' with message 'Function MLAShortcodes::mla_attachment_list_shortcode() does not exist' in /home/USER/public_html/FOLDER/wp-content/plugins/shortcode-reference/lib/ShortcodeReference.php:63 Stack trace: #0 /home/USER/public_html/FOLDER/wp-content/plugins/shortcode-reference/lib/ShortcodeReference.php(63): ReflectionFunction->__construct('MLAShortcodes::...') #1 /home/USER/public_html/FOLDER/wp-content/plugins/shortcode-reference/lib/ShortcodeReferenceService.php(55): ShortcodeReference->__construct('mla_attachment_...') #2 /home/USER/public_html/FOLDER/wp-content/plugins/shortcode-reference/lib/ShortcodeReferenceService.php(22): ShortcodeReferenceService::fillList() #3 /home/USER/public_html/FOLDER/wp-content/plugins/shortcode-reference/lib/ShortcodeReferenceUIManager.php(32): ShortcodeReferenceService::getList() #4 [internal function]: ShortcodeReferenceUIManager->showReferencePanel(Object(WP_Post), Array) #5 /home/USER/public_html/FOLDER/w in /home/USER/public_html/FOLDER/wp-content/plugins/shortcode-reference/lib/ShortcodeReference.php on line 63
    —–

What’s more, WYSIWYG editors didn’t show… just plain “text” editor.

I’m quite sure the problem is between your plugin and Shortcode Reference, ’cause when I disabled that, everything ran smooth.
I hope this info is useful. I love both plugins and I would like to be able to use both. ??

    Thanks in advance.

No need to thank me for using the result of your good work.
    Thanks to you instead. ??

I think you got my suggestion anyway.
Please be patient with me not using the exact terms…
English is not my language AND I’m relatively new to WP. ??

BTW, it’s obvious that you modeled the “Assistant” screen on the “Library” screen, and you did a good work on that.

But there are two main good reasons to integrate the two (rather than replace the “Library”):

    1. It may result confusing for those who are not used to happily mess and explore with software options. For example, I had a hard enough time explaining my colleague how to use the core WP backend… when I had to explain her that, basically, now Media has two “Library” screens, she looked confused. I know she didn’t get it 100%. She’s just repeating my instructions like a robot. I know it may sound like a silly complain, but in a non-internet-related small Company, it’s not unusual (in my experience) that people can barely turn the PC on and read emails lol.
So this suggestion is not strictly for my use, but for the general success of your plugin. The easier, the better. ??
    2. There are several plugins that improve all Library screens (for Pages, Media, Posts, CPT…) populating them with more info than default. And obviously you can’t build that screen to contain every possible thing. Integrating Media Library with your Media Assistant would allow to have everything on the same screen.

All these are simply my opinions anyway.
And please note that they’re mostly cosmetic suggestions.

So I wouldn’t suggest to concentrate too much on this.
Just remember my words when you’ll have some spare time to spend on minor improvements. ??

Thanks again, keep on with the good work!

    Max
