In reply to: [Instant Articles for WP] Customizing FooterHi @electronini. I just wanted to inform you that this has been made into an official feature request on the open source project. More information (and a temporary workaround) can be found here: https://github.com/Automattic/facebook-instant-articles-wp/issues/261

In reply to: [Instant Articles for WP] Advance option is not working after updateThis sounds like the CSS file (containing necessary styles which govern the hiding/showing of the Advanced Settings section) is cached in your browser. Can you try doing a hard refresh in your browser (typically: Cmd+Shift+R) or clearing out your cache manually and let me know the results?

In reply to: [Instant Articles for WP] Galleries – not transformed in markupHi @piotrgoreckijr. The next version of the plugin (v3.2) will include Transformer Rules for the gallery which was opened as an issue on GitHub here.
Is this the same gallery you use? If not, what is the gallery called? Perhaps if you can provide the “Source Markup” shown after clicking the “Toggle debug information” link in the “Instant Articles” meta-box when editing a post, you or others from the community could help generate the Transformer Rules needed for your gallery.

In reply to: [Instant Articles for WP] I can see only white screenHi @moufarzana25. The behaviour you described appears to be this known problem. We’ve implemented a fix which will be out in the next version of the plugin (3.2) so stay tuned for that. Until then, there is a workaround which may work if you have access the “All Settings” page for your WordPress installation:
- Make sure you have the latest plugin version (currently v3.1.3)
- Navigate to
/wp-admin/options.php
of your installation - Clear out the value of the option named
instant-articles-current-state
* - Click the “Save Changes” button at the bottom
This will force the plugin to revert to it’s initial state for the Setup Wizard and you can input a new App ID and App Secret.
*Note, depending on the version of the plugin that you have, this option may not exist. In this case, clearing out the following option should have the same effect:
instant-articles-option-fb-app
.I hope that works. For now, I’ll mark this thread as “resolved” because of the solutions suggested above. Please save this as “not resolved” if you find your problem persists after trying the above.

In reply to: [Instant Articles for WP] Google Analytics & IAHi @undying. Under the Advanced Settings > Analytics, you’ll see options for configuring your analytics trackers.
Use the Custom Embed Code option to paste the raw embed code snippet durectly from Google Analytics or if you have the Google Analytics by MonsterInsights plugin (formerly “Google Analytics by Yoast”) you can simply enable it from 3rd Party Integrations option.
Full details about Analytics support in Instant Articles can be found in these docs.

In reply to: [Instant Articles for WP] Footer CustomizationHi @electronini. Thanks for taking the time to submit a review.
You’re not the first to request this feature and we’ve made it an official enhancement request within GitHub. I’ve put it into the next milestone to bring attention to it and also asked for help from the community to help implement it.
I’ve linked this post in the GitHub issue so that when it is rolled out, we can communicate it back to you.

In reply to: [Instant Articles for WP] Error 403Hi @nhanhcentral. Thanks for submitting a review and describing the problems you encountered. It seems, though, that these error messages are generated by the Facebook review process and not the plugin itself. Can you confirm? I’d like to properly assess if there is in fact something wrong with the RSS feed or not.
Occasionally, images can fail to load for several reasons (even if just temporary, network problems) and unless you’re able to re-submit for review, that error will persist in the review report. Perhaps it’s a question of fixing any other errors/warnings that may be present and then re-submitting?
Are these the only errors provided by the review or are there others?

In reply to: [Instant Articles for WP] ErrosSo sorry about that! Without any values for the setting options, the plugin won’t attempt to connect to Facebook which, in turn, wouldn’t allow for the possibility of the exception to occur. I’ve confirmed this locally so I don’t yet understand why the exception error was still thrown for you.
Ok, so you’ve removed the plugin entirely. This will obviously do the trick in terms of preventing the error from appearing.
The next planned release (which includes the fix) is scheduled for early next week. If this is an acceptable time frame for you and you’re more comfortable with that solution, we can wait until then. If not, I’m happy to look into your particular case more closely. For the latter, it would help if you can send me:
– The exact version of your plugin
– Which options that start withinstant-articles-option-
in your “All Settings” page (/wp-admin/options.php
)
– The value of theapp_id
parameter within theinstant-articles-option-fb-app

In reply to: [Instant Articles for WP] ErrosThe latest version is 3.1.3. In this version, you should have an option called
instant-articles-current-state
, and you’d only have to clear out that value. If you don’t have this value, you should only have to clear out the following in order to revert the Setup Wizard:
instant-articles-option-fb-app
instant-articles-option-fb-page
Note, you’ll have to input your App ID and App Secret and reconnect to your Facebook page — essentially, you’ll have to go through the setup flow again. I recommend copying the values of those options to a local text file before clearing them out just to have their values for reference.
Let me know how it goes.

In reply to: [Instant Articles for WP] Erros@spidermanph can you confirm which version of the plugin you currently have?

In reply to: [Instant Articles for WP] Slow support, but getting there eventually@minneyar. Yes, I was going to suggest the same workaround as removing the saved data from the DB would revert the plugin to its initial state and avoid the exception (which the next version of the plugin will avoid altogether).
If you scroll to the bottom of the main Reviews page for this plugin where you originally submitted your review, you should be able to change the rating and re-submit. Let me know how it goes.

In reply to: [Instant Articles for WP] Obnoxious piece of softwareThanks for the quick reply, @eresdev.
I wasn’t necessarily expecting recollection on every thing that went wrong at the time you submitted this review. My hope was that starting with a couple that you do remember would be first step and we could go from there. For example, sharing in what ways the plugin is like a virus would already be a help. If you can’t remember, I understand.
Additionally, if you’re able to share which modifications you made to the plugin which got it to work satisfactorily in your environment, that’s another avenue we could take in order to identify the pain points you experienced. I wasn’t able to tell from your previous message if you still have this plugin.

In reply to: [Instant Articles for WP] This is a HOT MESSHi @pnoeric. Thanks for submitting a review and I’m sorry to hear about the poor experiences you’ve had with our plugin. We’ve been slow to respond because we are short-staffed to keep up with all activity in the community but we do care about difficulties you are having and we’ll try our best to resolve your issues.
In this effort, would you be able to share some particulars about the bugs you observed? This would help us identify and categorize the issues in order to get them fixed.
Thanks again for sharing your experience so far and we hope we can improve things for you as soon as possible.
Hi @lisota. Thanks for taking the time to submit an honest review and I’m sorry to hear about the poor experiences you’ve had with our plugin. Was there any particular issues or problems you wanted to highlight or describe so that we can prioritize them? The latest available version of the plugin when you submitted your review was v2.11 and some significant updates have been released since. If you’ve gotten a chance to upgrade and use it, we’d value any particular feedback you could provide about these changes.
Thanks again for sharing your experience and we hope we can improve your sentiments with this plugin.

In reply to: [Instant Articles for WP] Tons of errorsHi @lucamago. I’m sorry to hear about the poor experiences you’ve had with our plugin. Thanks for taking the time to submit a review — we’ve been slow to respond because we are short-staffed to keep up with all activity in the community but we do care about difficulties you are having and we’ll try our best to resolve the issues you’ve had.
Since the version that was available when your review was submitted (v2.10), there have been a lot of updates. I’m curious if any of them have made your experience with the plugin better or if you were ever able to get the duplicate images issue resolved in order to get approved?
If it’s still occurring, could you provide me with the output of the [Toggle debug information] link inside the “Facebook Instant Articles” section below the post editor section. Clicking that link will show two textareas: “Source Markup” and “Transformed Markup”. If you could provide both, it would be helpful.
Thanks again for sharing your experience so far and we hope we can improve things for you as soon as possible.
