Is there any negative to adding this rule?
My clients become concerned when they see these errors. But I’ve seen some online discussion that blocking this link can be a problem, and other documentation that says it is not.
It seems like a lot of WordPress sites would have this issue…
Thank you! That solved it. I’ve left a review. Really love your plugin. I’m using it for some rapid-release book authors. The covers look amazing in the carousel and my clients love the look!

Would you at all consider a customer request? Maybe add the excerpt length to the settings page? Then pull it in your query as a variable? My client would even throw money at you to help with this.
Is there seriously no way to do this? It is impossible? Can you explain why? We’re looking at hiring a programmer to fix this otherwise it is not usable for us. The excerpts are just too short!

In reply to: [Contact Form 7] False error notice on email/domain checkI can second this. Every multisite that I support, every contact form now shows an error on validation. Single sites are fine.

In reply to: [Insert Pages] User edit redirects to one postIt is terrible that I never think to even look at these settings. I’ll try to remember if there is ever a next time. But this plugin has been SO STABLE and SO USEFUL for so long… I’d never even thought of checking for settings.
Seriously, it is making my life so much easier. When I realized this was the plugin, I thought, “well…I’ll be living with this bug…” because it is everywhere on the site.
Given that I use it for teacher’s bios, etc. It makes it so much easier to just change one place and have everything update.
One of my favorite plugins.

In reply to: [Insert Pages] User edit redirects to one postYES! That solved it! Fantastic!!! THANK YOU! (Note: I detest using all caps, so this is me literally screaming with joy.)
I should mention: private window, unused browsers, changing devices… all of these still showed the wrong result even several hours after the post was deleted. So weird.
I’m encouraged that I’m also getting a 404 error now for the non-existent post. This is the EXPECTED behavior. Normally we DO get 404 errors from non-existent links. That was why this one was so bizarre. It does seem to have cleared up.
I did check .htaccess first. I will look into the _wp_old_slug issue, however at the time this happened, it was a brand new post. It went live, shared to Facebook fine, shared to a couple of emails fine, then seemed to redirect via some weird propagation routine until nothing could get to the original post.
We took it down, copied the post, and then re-released it without the tag. Nothing has bothered the new post. I was shocked when the deleted post continued to be found. I’m very happy that has resolved.
It seemed to be that the query for that post was being changed so that rather than pulling up the post, it was pulling up a JSON response… but that really was just a guess.
Again, thank you so much!

That’s the network’s root site, more of a placeholder. The others on the network are actual useful sites.
