yes, i too noticed that link & tells us about setting up parent-child relationship for any new category we might add via that panel.

Also, I am not looking at arranging each one in a separate theme
(may be i got it all wrong.. did i ?)

The fact is, i am tried of maintaining 4 separate blogs, and looking to bring them all together under one WP blog.
& all this parent-child category is an attempt to streamline the content thats going to pour in

This might be a bit irrelevent, but i would like to get in touch with you.

It appears from this thread that you are using bluehost as your hosting partner. Theys also figure in my list of top 3. I would like to know your experience with bluehost, Is it possible to have the main site abc.com & abc/blog as subdomains ? Do you recommend using them.

There seems to be no other way of getting in touch with you.
Hence i am using this thread.

I would like have all my poems listed under the poetry page
(and not at the main page).

so that, when ever the page is clicked, it displays the list of poems only & nothing else.

OK.. tried something else..
1. I log off and try to view the blog – I get message “Protected blog” ( fine.. so far so good)
2. Logged in with my ID – yes.. i was able to see ( good again)
3. logged out – got mysled a new test ID
4. gave privateblogurl – said protected blog – used the new ID to login – “Got redirected to the dashboard of the new ID” ( Is this how it is supposed to work ??… i thought the “unauthorised user” will still get a message saying ” you donot have permission to view this blog”.. or something like taht

I dont know.. this is my first time with wordpress..
I am trying to learn how wordpress works..

irrespective of WP hosted / privately hosted..
if a private-blog option is given to the admin.. then one would expect instructions to “allow specific readers”… just read and comment

The admin (like me) might not want every one to be a “user” ( with contributor status)

the blog url is — blogname.wordpress.com

by this it means it is a “wordpress hosted blog” isnt it ?

I created this blog just 3 weeks back

ok..
This is what i did
Settings – privacy – I would like my blog to be private,
and gave the email at the username (add user)

Apparently this does not seem to be working..

should i ask the readers to register themselves and then give that username here ???
