I found something else, that might help:

I created a mini cart. There it works.

I compared the two links from remove button.

Both are identical. mini cart works, normal cart doesn’t.

I found something else:

When I’m in the cart and unsuccessfully try to delete an item, then I click on checkout and then go back to gthe card, I still cannot delete the item, but at least then I can change the quantity and update the cart which was not possible before.

This is all really frustrating because like this, the store cannot go live. This is a no-go.

I’ve also wiped wordpress and the database from my VPS and rebuilt it from scratch. Tried different themes.

All have the same problem. I cannot click on the “x” to delete an item.

I’m pretty sure it has something to do with woocommerce.

so i need to reopen. Something is wrong here. maybe it is a theme issue, maybe it is a plugin issue but I am no dev.

I deleted all pages and recreated the woocommerce default pages and then it stopped working again.

I wiped the database in Mariadb and created a new one for wordpress. Everything works now.
