To recheck this, I had to uninstall the replacement and reinstall WP Edit. Once I had been thru all that, by golly the font and table links were there! As it’s been at least a couple of years, perhaps such things have been changed, but that I could never remember!

As to changing my rating, I see no way of doing so, and don’t have time to waste. Sorry.

We all know that it takes hours and hours just to find a decent plugin in WordPress. Many are long past time to update, and need to be removed.
    It’s getting SO tiresome.

Having dropped NextGen, and only then discovered that problem, seeking support was pointless. I do hope that you’ve fixed that problem, but I’ll not risk it again. It cost me DAYS to reconstruct what was lost.

I have since gone thru a small version of hell. I’m running Linux as my main computer, but also have and sometimes use a now-Win10 laptop. I don’t need AV on Linux but use Frontier Secure on the laptop, where Win10 is a recent update from Win8.1. There I found that the Win10update had disabled or wiped out Frontier Secure AV, and so spent over 2 hours getting it reinstalled and running a full scan. About 21 malware items were found, quarantined and removed, so that was a good thing.

Back on the Linux box, my theme Frontier (not to be confused with Frontier Secure) showed nothing about AddToAny. So then I went to your Settings and simply deleted the “whatever” within that /Floating/Additional Options box. After some checking of articles, I see no more duplicate AddToAny items below my posts. I have no idea how that Additional Options box was filled, but being now empty was apparently all that was needed. I do wish that you’d suggested that from the git-go. I do like AddToAny so I this makes me happy again.

So my issue can now be marked “resolved” but somehow it seems to have already been so marked. I thank you.

I checked my Frontier theme “customize” and saw something about AddToAny and thought I had removed it, as now I can’t find it. Whatever, the doubling of ATA display remained. It’s apparently now on all posts/pages doubled, but I can remove the extra by editing one page at a time – that’s unacceptable.

On both tabs Standard and Floating is an item for “Additional Items”, both containing beginning “<!– AddToAny BEGIN –> — I didn’t write any of that (have no idea how!) and suspect that’s triggering the doubling. I gotta say that gibberish like that ought not be inserted by ATA because I suspect many lay users unsavvy with CSS and Java like myself have no clue what it’s instructing NOR what to do with that.

Thanks, MarkRH, that wasn’t it, tho, as I found the problem in settings.
There are two tabs, Standard and Floating
Unwittingly I turned on the ditto by selecting the same thing in the Floating tab (don’t even know that that means). When I I unchecked something in the Floating window and the problem was gone.

Thanks for your thought – it makes sense!

I solved my problem myself. As Deactivation didn’t do it, I removed both Ultra Users and WooCommerce. Guess that leave you back in the woods from which you came.

It’s not a “bad day”, it is FOUR bad days and counting.
So now your given link to some “support forum” is exactly the same as right here. So helpful – NOT!

All I want from you at this point is the word on how to get rid of all the mess you’ve made of my website. But you “won’t do that”. Pay attention, folks!

okay, you found the problem, and I found that and added a missing space after people. So There was/is NO https:// before that, and thus the error message was folly.

Thanks for finding the typo, but that ought never have appeared as a malware problem. I didn’t find it only because I was searching for https://people.SO which appeared in the problem report – wrong!

    Forum: Fixing WordPress
    In reply to: Re-directing error

I’m having a same-problem, and it was caused by changing the link in /dashboard /settings/ line3 “WordPress Address (URL)” from my domain website to another website I have at wordpress.com. This wiped out my access to my domain dashboard.
SQL database is now holding many links which serve to redirect to xxxxxx.wordpress.com, and I’ve had to hire my ISP support tech to fix it, which I expect would be quick and simple from the dashboard, but… thus far tech has not fixed that problem!

I’ll be watching for a solution!

I’m having a similar problem. I believe that what caused that was may change of dashboard / settings / general of the 3rd line WordPress Address (URL) to my site at mysite/wordpress.com
while the 4th line Site Address (URL) remaind at my domain website.
This triggered everything to auto-redirect to the 3rd line URL and the redirect now shows a very corrupted variation of my domain homepage which omits the 2nd column with all links. I have not been able to find anyway now to reach my domain login so cannot reach my dashboard to correct the problem.
My webserver tech is working on this but it’s costing me, and so far nothing is fixed. The SQL database now contains a ton of references to mysite/wordpress.com which are obviously serving to redirect everything to the unwanted place.

So I am trying to figure out how to “upgrade” wordpress without access to the dashboard, that’s scary indeed.

update – Mike, I simply can’t get past the fumbling trying to get the beta installed. Surely it’s part me, but it’s also Win8.1, new to me and just plain awful.
So I can’t verify the beta, will just wait for the update. Thank you

    (@dean-striker)

okay I’ve done the uninstall and will proceed to stumble ahead, thanks!

No, I didn’t delete the plugin Email Users, but I did make a backup fileset “just in case”. It’s located in a new folder under Email Users. I figured it was probably unnecessary, as if there was some problem I could easily just restore the existing plugin. So emptying the folder sounds just fine or…

I have never uploaded a zip file so I don’t know if/how that might work — it sounds like uploading the zip may be the better way?

Anyway, as you can tell, I’m old and obsolete now. I’ve not uploaded anything much (ftp) for years now since I stopped using Frontpage in favor of using WordPress (for the blogging) altho all my older frontpage stuff remains and some of those remain relevant to my current WordPress webs and thus are linked within WordPress.

    Sounds good to me.
But, I downloaded the beta and unzipped it, but somehow installing the beta using File Manager didn’t work to upload, so can’t help with the verify.
I’ll just wait for your upgrade, thanks!
