    Hi Joost,

Yes, I did look at that documentation. I think it’s all working okay now, but this section near the top that says:

After installing and activating the WooCommerce PayPal Payments plugin, go to WooCommerce > Settings.
    Click the Payments tab.
The Payment methods list will include two PayPal options.
Click Set Up (or Manage if the extension is already active) next to PayPal. (not PayPal Standard).
The PayPal Checkout tab presents different options for the onboarding process:

The image below that is not what showed in my WordPress dashboard. So I had to just keep trying different things in the hope I was making the correct selections. Maybe each theme shows these screens in slightly different ways.

    Thanks for your help,
    Dana

    Hi Igor H,

I had never noticed that little edit symbol in the Order Details page. I was able to open up the Billing section and change her address. I did select to “email order details to customer”. Now I hope that she receives the email at the correct address!

    Thanks for your help,
    DD

    Hi Joost & Niklas,

Yes, thank you. I got caught up with 3 other tech problems and was a bit overwhelmed. The error message went away, and I still waited a couple weeks before deciding to try installing the WooCommerce PayPal Payments plugin again. It has worked for a couple orders so far, so I think the problem is resolved.

I received an email from PayPal about this plugin with a link to a video, and was trying to follow along with it, and with the written instructions also, but they didn’t match the screens on my website. I think the video and instructions are already out of date. I had to just guess and experiment, hoping I was on the right track. It would be great to have more current instructions.

    Thanks,
    Dana

I keep trying to find how to edit this post, since I left out a word in my subject. If someone can help me do this, or do it for me, that would be great.

What I meant to put was “How to CHANGE email address for customer who checked out as a Guest”

    Thanks,
    DD

    Hi Niklas,
I did look at my wp-config.php file and the word “DEBUG” is not in there. So is it enabled even if it’s not in the file?
I did update WP Faster Cache on 9/6 and the error message seems to have disappeared. I also re-installed Woo Commerce that day (6.8.2). I have not yet re-installed WC PayPal Payments, since I want to take it one step at a time.

I did create a staging site on my host, and I re-installed WC PayPal Payments there, which looks fine, but the staging site doesn’t exactly seem to mirror my website. There are always some images missing, so it’s hard to judge if a plugin is screwing things up or not.

Should I add the Debug message in the wp-config.php file even if Debug is not stated in that file?

    Thanks for your help!

    Hi Niklas,
Thanks for your response. I have never installed the WooCommerce Blocks plugin. I’m not sure why it’s looking for that plugin. Any ideas?

As for debugging, I’ll have to look into that. I am not a programmer. I only learned HTML years ago to create my first website. Now I’m getting help from someone who knows more technical details than I do. I have not been aware of using debugging, but maybe it’s set up as a default.

Everything was working fine up until (I think) when I updated Woo Commerce to the latest version. I didn’t install the Blocks plugin or do anything with debugging…

    Thanks,
    Dana

    Hi Daniel,
Thank you for that information. I again went to the “My Account” page in Avada, but I tried the “Avada Live” method of editing, which I never use. I did finally find a place where that email address was listed! And I was able to delete it. Phew. I appreciate your help, and the suggestions of everyone else, which helped me to eventually resolve this!
    Take care,
    Dana

    Hi Lorro,

Yes, I learned about that trick that spammers use. Very frustrating! They have ruined my email deliverability for that address, plus they’re spamming me with it too! So I do need to get rid of that address, but I realize I can’t stop the spammers from still using it ??

In the Dashboard I went into Users/Profile/Customer Billing Address – and it showed a different email address, not the one shown on the screenshot I posted above.

I won’t be listing an email address on the My Account or Thank You page anymore if I can figure out how to get rid of it!

    Thanks a lot,
    Dana

    Hi Mirko,

Here is a screenshot of the “My Account” page when I was logged into WordPress:

    https://snipboard.io/EGJLND.jpg

This shows the email address that I am going to decommission due to spam. I hope this works with the snipboard – I’ve never tried that before – very cool! When I did the test order, this is what showed at the top of the page – just like this with the phone & email address after “Need Assistance?” Maybe this has to do with the Avada theme, which is the one I use.

Trying to edit the My Account page didn’t work – it didn’t allow any changes and didn’t actually show any content in the text area – only the name of the WooCommerce template.

Regarding CSS, I did learn it years ago when I made my first website in HTML, but I have to say I’ve forgotten almost everything! I’m not a web designer, but just a business owner who does her own website (with some help).

    Here’s a link to my website: https://sonomabodybalance.com/

    Thank you,
    Dana

    Hi Lorro,

Yes, I did find the My Account page. I had looked at that before, and I see it does say at the top “Need assistance?” and lists my phone & email. When I’m in “Edit Page” however, it only shows, like you mentioned:
    [woocommerce_my_account]

So there must be somewhere where I could delete that email address. Do you know where that might be? I am in the process of getting rid of that email address due to a nightmare scenario of spammers using it to spam people. I’ve updated it in WordPress, but somehow the My Account page is not reflecting this.

    Any ideas?
    Thank you!

    Hi Lorro,
Sorry if this seems obvious, but what do you mean by “public pages”? There’s nothing about accounts on my list of the pages on my website. Also, I’m not familiar with Storefront. I’m using WooCommerce and I have the Avada theme.
    Thanks,
    Dana

    Hi Roxanne S,
Unfortunately, I can’t find that page again. I guess I could “purchase” something from myself again – for like $1. I was hoping there was an easy way to find the page somewhere.
    Thanks,
    Dana

One more thing: I moved the </form> to the end of the code, saved and updated the page. Button still didn’t work. Then I looked at the code again, and it had moved the </form> back to where it was before – in the middle of the code, before the button content. What’s going on? When I log onto PayPal, the </form> shows up at the end of all the code for the button.
