David,
This has gone back and forth between being broken and fixed. I’m running Version 1.6.1.4 and this is what I’m currently experiencing:
If I leave the “Number of Gallery Columns” in the default “Automatic” setting, the thumbnails will be distorted. If I manually choose a column number (e.g. “Three Columns (3)”) then the thumbnails display correctly and proportionately.
Hope that helps.
This was fixed for one release but it’s broken again.
Whether you leave the default “Automatic” column setting or set it to a specific number of columns, it forces portrait thumbnails into landscape dimensions.
It’s strange because old galleries are not affected by the problem; only new galleries.
Okay. It looks like if you leave the “Column” setting to the default “Automatic,” it will force portrait thumbnails into landscape size.
Not sure if you want it to work this way (I would think not), but you have to set a specific number of thumbnail columns to avoid this issue.
I’m using Version: 1.6.1 of the Envira Lite plugin. It is not fixed. Is there a more recent version than Version: 1.6.1?
I cannot submit a ticket at https://enviragallery.com/contact because I am using the free version.
I really need this to be fixed.
Thank you.
I am experiencing the same issue the same problem after updating to Version 1.6.1.
Portrait thumbnails are displaying in landscape mode, which causes them to distort.

Is there any update on when this will be fixed?
Thanks.

I am also experiencing a similar issue.
Sorry to reopen this ticket, but I was wondering if you could take a look at https://www.britishcarclassifieds.com/blog/british-car-database/ and let me know if anything sticks out as causing the problem.
I’ve searched funtions.php and header.php, but did find either of the offending culprits mentioned in the article you linked to. I fear the theme developer may be using some un-standard method.
I did find the following line when looking at the source code of the page:
<script type=’text/javascript’ src=’https://www.britishcarclassifieds.com/blog/wp-includes/js/jquery/jquery.js?ver=1.11.2′></script>
But I’m not sure if this is the culprit.
Any help would be much appreciated.
Thanks for your time and consideration, and please let me know if you require any additional info.

I understand the first part but what exactly do you mean when you say “Drop the table and reimport the .sql file.”? What steps do I take to do that?
Thanks again.
