I understand that you have been busy. To be perfectly honest with you I used another plugin that was much easier to use. Specially for someone like me with no experience what so ever in programming or with web development. I’m not fully satisfied with that one either but it’s almost perfect.

I deleted UM and checked the “Remove all data” to get a clean start. I re-created a smaller version of my membership site for test purposes and I’m still having problems:
1. The user can’t uppload a profile picture and an image
2. The search page doean’t work. It dint work from the start after that UM created the pages and I viewed the member pahe. I got a blank page with the title “Members” and the word “Edit”
3. The “user page” didn’t work either. When I viewd the page I got my own profile.
4. When the user write her name she gets “User name contain characters that are not allowed”. I used the default register page and just changed the name “User name” to a swedish word. Everything else was the same.

These things should work. I’m not expected to know programing to use UM.

It seems I’m not able to make the user profile work.
I have a login page that leads to a new page called login but the user is already logged in. It looks like a profile page where the alternatives are “Logo out” our “My account”.
The user must click on account to open the profile (Or whatever this page is). A new page titled Submissions opens and the user has now 2 possibilities: Either clicking on “Edit profile” and in this case he/she can fill in 1st name, last name, website and Biographical info.
Or cliques on “default user group” and opens a page with the members in this group or “Leave group”.
How can my user continue to fill in the forms if he/she created the account without all the information?

My website doesn’t need groups. I have 2 kinds of users: Talents looking for jobs and Companies looking for talents. These two roles can then search for each other.

I need help to clean this mess. I created the forms in Registration Magic without any knowledge in web developement or programming. Do I need an expert to fix it?

My section was about educational achievements and was a drop box. When I change the alternatives in the box the whole section disapeared for the existing users. Fortunately the site was still in test mode so no harm was done. I learned that when I release the site I’m not going to do any changes.

I advice you to test the changes in a copy so you won’t have any problems.

I changed the content of a section and it disapeard for alla existing users. They couldn’t see the whole section.
For new users nothing happended. They could fill in the section with the changes I made.

I don’t know if the issue was fixed or not.

I still can’t upload the background picture and the profile picture. The square to crop the image won’t appear either.

Can anyone give me an idea of what’s causing this or what I can do to solve it. Please! Just brainstorm for me.

I have done theme conflict test and checked roles and permissions and nothing seems to work.

I now have tried to solve the probleme with the help of the docs you provided with no luck.
I even had help from an expert and he didn’t solve it either.

As far as he can se I have all the permissions the users need (read, write and execute). When the user upload a picture it get stored in the server. The administrator sees it. But the picture is not linked to the user’s profile.

It seems that the link of the image is not updated and the link of the default image remains in place.

Can you help me please!

I had the same issue when I changed the way users fill in work experience. After I changed it the sectioen “Work experince” was gone and it didn’nt matter what I did to solve it. Nothing worked.

I did a test to see what happens if I create a new user after I made changes in the form. I found out that the user I created after I made the changes has no problems with the new form. Old users however can’t see the fields that I changed.

It seems that you can’t change the forms after having registred users.

I guess I can create text areas for users to list jobs, dates, employers and a brief explanation what that job is all about.

I tried to create a section for job listings with three columns and realized that it will not works. I couldn’t get them aligned so one carn read job and date in column 1, employer in column 2 and text about the job in column 3 etc. They are different size and end up on different rows.

Update
I uninstalled UM and removed all data I created to install it again. The probleme desapeared.
So in a way the issue is solved.

Please ignore my last comment. It’s not working at all. I’m not sure that I’m going to get any answer from support.
Conditional fields are not working. All fields are displaying redargdless of whether the user makes a choice or not.
I tried a theme conflict test and the probleme is still there. I’m runnng out of options and time.

I tried to temporarely solve the problem by creating just one registration form for both roles. I used conditional fields to hide from one role all fields that belong to the second role and vice versa.
I called the form Register and fixed the problem with the settings.

It worked. It’s not the optimal thing to do but I can continue to work now. I have to say that it require using both rules “Hide and show” in each field for the whole thing to work.

I think guys that you should have someone who is familiar with the plugin to make a youtube video and show all the novices out there how to make it work and what kind of problems one can get.
