Forum: Fixing WordPress
In reply to: MP3 Truncated or shortened when upload to Media LibrarySo you’re right. In “Health Check” troubleshooting mode, it uploads fine. Grr. I have no idea how a plugin could stop working spontaneously. From one week to the next I know of nothing that changed. An I don’t know of any plugins that are supposed to affect the media library or uploads.
Ok, well I’m off to see which one it is…
Thanks!EDIT: So I forgot that I did have a plugin called “`Tuxedo Big File Uploads” that “Enables large file uploads in the built-in WordPress media uploader.”
It worked great for a while, but I guess somehow decided to start screwing things up. Disabled and working fine now.*I’ll just have to figure out another way to allow uploads of up to 50MB.
Thanks again!!- This reply was modified 3 years, 3 months ago by DavidWiebe.

Same here – I’ve got 3 more emails from WordFence that he’s exceeded 20 attempts and has been blocked. I guess it’s only blocked for a while. I’ll have to see if I can block his IP and contact the ISP again.
I don’t have any useful info for you, other than I just got notified of the same thing… whoever this person is – they seem to be trying to hack a bunch of WordPress sites:
A user with IP address 173.208.241.106 has been locked out from the signing in or using the password recovery form for the following reason: Exceeded the maximum number of login failures which is: 20. The last username they tried to sign in with was: ‘admin’
User IP: 173.208.241.106
User hostname: 173.208.241.106
User location: Kansas City, United StatesI submitted an email to the service provider’s abuse address: [email protected]

In reply to: [evolve] Where did my slider pics go?Luckily my host has backups and I can restore the images.
Let me know if you need them too.I tried another hour today and I can’t find where that is coming from. The same code is there in the copied page which is not set to the “home” page… so I don’t know why it behaves differently when the page is set to be the site’s ‘home’ page.
I’ve just enabled the page redirect work-around and done. I’ve wasted FAR too much time looking for that darn line of CSS code! Thanks for looking into that… I’ve spent a few hours in Firefox object inspector and found where if I uncheck that item it shows correctly, but I can’t for the life of me find where that CSS is so that I can change it!
I’ve searched through the CSS files that are listed in the [Appearance]>> [Editor]>> [Evolve] section… (4 CSS files) and I can’t find it in there.
Can anyone find which file that is being pulled from so I can delete the “!important” from it?
Thanks!!!Sorry, I should have done that in the first place.
I figured out a work-around by making a ‘dummy page’ (Welcome) the official “is_home” and then using a redirect plugin to automatically redirect it to my (Home) Page. That way all appears to be well, but it just disguises the problem instead of fixing it.
For you to check into it, I’ve now disabled the redirects and added the Welcome page to the menu so you can see it easy.
Thanks!
Excellent!
Thanks for the super fast & useful reply!!
That seems to be working! After reading this post – I think I have the same issue.
I have the widget set to display 7 days and it was working fine for a while, but then on Friday May 1, I saw it had 14 days listed (May 1-14) in the widget. If I changed it to 6 days it worked, but 7 or 8 days just kept showing all the way to the 14th. I didn’t have time to look at it over the weekend. Today (Monday) it’s still showing dates from May 3 to May 14.
Then I realized that it’s not show all events for that period, but there is one week-long event which starts on the 7th and runs to the 14th. It is the only item listed for the days that exceed the specified 7-day period.
This is not good for 2 reasons…
(1.) I only want to see 7 days so the list is shorter, (And the title is: 7-day Calendar!)
(2.) It looks like there is only one event on those days beyond 7, when actually there are many other items on the calendar for those days, but it is only showing the week-long event for those days which exceed the specified 7 day period.I hope that is clear enough. I’ll be happy to help where I can.
You can see it in action at a temp site I put up: https://pec.davidwiebe.comSubmitted!
Yeah, I found it a bit confusing that my one-day event was listed as April 1 – April 2. I think going to 11:59 would be much better. I’ll look forward to that release. Thanks!
After playing with the template text a bit, I started to figure out how it works and I like it. I like that I could use html and css code to format things and make them look better – how I wanted it. I’ll definitely check out that help screen if I can find more info about it there!
I wish that I could also apply formatting like Bold, center, or text color to the Widget Title. Just a little something if you’re looking for ideas.
I guess it always takes me a few seconds to realize that it’s in a different order than I’m expecting and I’m so lazy that I was hoping I could find a setting so I didn’t have to make that extra click on the top of the date heading!!
:o)
If you do add another option for ascending date order in settings – My lazy clicker finger will thank you!
From what I’ve seen so far – Great plugin by the way!I had all-day events in the upcoming events widget showing:
N/A, April 1, 2015 - April 2, 2015
I was also unable to remove the N/A as it would default back to N/A when I click Save, and I found that putting a space instead of N/A still showed as:
, April 1, 2015 - April 2, 2015
Then I figured out how to clear the event end date field… Which you have to do EVERY TIME you edit the event because after you clear the end-date field and save, it puts a date back into that field! (… even though it is saved & shows on the calendar without an end date.)
Finally I changed the widget template to:
<strong>{daterange}</strong> {timerange after=", "}<BR> – {linking_title}
and now it shows it how I wanted with the exception that there’s an awkward space and comma after the Date when no time-range is specified (like in all-day events).Just thought I’d toss out my observations in case they help anyone and also to inform the author of some minor awkwardness of the interface.
I’ve just started playing with the Plugin today, but so far it seems like a really good Calendar & widget. Thanks!
EDIT: I played with the code and found that removing the
after", "
part removed the awkward comma. Cool! Still figuring out how all this code works!I don’t want to press – but have you had a chance to look at this?
I’m guessing there’s just some small conflict with the name of a tag or feature that’s overlapping… but I don’t understand the PHP code well enough to troubleshoot it myself.Sorry, I didn’t get a notification that you’d responded… I’ll see if that’s a preferences setting or something.
The site is being set up on an internal network (intranet) and isn’t accessible from outside. Putting the Hueman Theme on any site with a menu should do the same thing. (After activating the plugin)
I suppose I could create an external site and copy it there if you’d like. Let me know if I should do that. I really appreciate your offer to help!
