Hi juriix, the closest thing the widget can do is display the temperature layer using the Celcius scale. This will show the temperature in °C but will also show some particle animations of the wind.

If you’re using the shortcode, it’s just a case of ensuring the following values are set:

[ventus layer="temp" scale="C"]

Am I confusing other plugins I have tested with Ventus?

I was wondering this myself, as you mentioned a pro version? There is no pro version of Ventus – it’s completely free.

I’m sure I just have a case of “Cranial – Anal” inversion.

Hey @kirkmahr, yes there are plenty of colourful layer options by default, but it can depend on the weather at the time. The windy.com widget doesn’t allow changing colours manually, as certain colours have pre-defined meanings. But I find that the default wind layer is often quite colourful, e.g. https://snipboard.io/YXWpJ4.jpg.

Hi @kirkmahr, this wouldn’t have anything to do with Ventus per se; it’s to do with how Safari handles iframes. I did find an answer for you though on Stack Overflow: Feature Policy Safari. Hope this helps.

Hi gauntlec, on further investigation it appears this is a widespread issue following the 6.2.1 update that is affecting shortcodes within block templates: https://wptavern.com/wordpress-6-2-1-update-breaks-shortcode-support-in-block-templates

Reverting to 6.2 would fix this for now, but obviously this is not satisfactory. A lot of developers in a similar position to myself are monitoring the issue to see if WordPress will address this in a subsequent patch update.

How are you embedding the shortcode? Are you using the Gutenberg editor’s shortcode block, or embedding some other way, i.e. via a page builder?

Hi kirkmahr, thanks for that. Can you try just removing forecast=”false” altogether? If not setting it to true, it’s best to leave it out altogether as the default value is just empty rather than false.

Also, I copied your shortcode into notepad and there was a mixture of differently-styled quotation marks, so try to make sure they’re all the correct " and not ″ or ”.

Hi kirkmahr, are you using the shortcode or the widget? If the shortcode, can you copy and paste in the exact shortcode you’re using?

Hi @webb64b, it isn’t possible to display just the forecast, and the zoom issue is a known bug with the windy forecast. I’ve reported this to the windy developers. I hope they address this soon.

Hi webb64b, sorry to hear of this issue. I might need to set up ACF on a test site to replicate this issue so as to get to the bottom of it. Can you send me a link to one of the affected pages?
