The same – “PHPMailer was able to connect to SMTP server but failed while trying to send an email.” And just before that, as before, it says “Mailer: Default (none)”.

Well, in the Content field, it says: PHPMailer was able to connect to SMTP server but failed while trying to send an email. (Btw, it’s only showing the recent attempts to send an email, which are my own tests of the Contact form in the last few days. Nothing before that is listed).

And in the Caller field, it shows all this:

Thank you, AW. I’m sorry, but some of what you are saying is like a foreign language to me, since I am only an artist, with limited experience at working with Word Press and other complex computer issues. I can tell you, however, that, under Debug Events, I do see a log of recent attempts to send a message through the contact form. I still have no idea how to fix this problem, and no one so far has been able to come up with a solution. I’m beginning to suspect that I need to hire someone to go into my website and fix the problem directly. Any suggestions?

Thank you, AW. I found the Debug Events page and enabled the Debug Email Sending, with and Events Retention Period of 1 week. Then tried a test email, and it didn’t work. Any other advice?

Thank you, Ian. I tried installing Easy WP SMTP. Unfortunately, it didn’t work. The same message appears in a red box: “Failed to send your message. Please try later or contact the administrator by another method.” Any other ideas out there?

Sorry, perhaps I do use a plugin for it and don’t know it. As you can surely tell, I am not very good with this sort of thing!

Thank you for your reply. I do not use a plugin for it, and I don’t know what a “feature of your theme” means. I’m sorry. Perhaps contact form is not the correct term? On the contact page of my website, https://davidleisner.com/contact/, there is a form on the left side of the page for contacting me. It has worked for many years as is. Recently, for some unknown reason, it stopped working and tells the user to contact the Administrator.
