  • Hello Joost,

I have frighteningly discovered that all my internal page and post links in my WordPress blog are now broken.

I started seeing a string of characters beginning with a ‘#’ after my URL a few weeks ago, after updating my SEO plugin, and some others that had worked fine previously.
I am not blaming the SEO plug, but perhaps you can figure out what happened, as I need to fix it fast. Paypal is available if need be.

I figured they were useful for SEO or something, but now i realize they are not recognized my my existing page links, all written prior to the mysterious addition of /#. (plus a string of characters) on every blog URL.

Almost all linked posts and pages (from menus) are broken.
I disabled ALl plugins, emptied my Safari Cache, and still the problem persists.

After doing tons of research on this issue, l also removed my Google Analytics ID from a questionable plugin, “AddThis”, and that didn’;t help either.

I am not familiar with code at all.

    Can you help?

    Thanks esmi,

I had tried deactivating all plugins, and also deleting them entirely and re-installing them (after saving them as an offline archive).
Reason I didn’t try that once again is that some of them had settings that seemed to reset to default once re-installed and re-activated. Major time swallower, but worth a second try if all else fails.

I was just about to archive offline and try a re-install of fresh WP files, but last time i did that, my whole blog went down. I;m afraid that i may not know how to re-install the whole set without losing all the settings data that linked my blog to the internet.
(great on a Mac, but sheepishly inexperienced in all things on a server.)

At this point, I’m willing to pay anyone who can fix this for me. Really.

Based on feedback from another forum, I checked my ‘single.php” file for Mantra.
It was recommend (at link below) to see if a certain string of code appeared below another string:

I did not find the recommended call “<?php comments_template(); ?>” in my “single.php” file that the forum recommended. So, I am pasting in the entire code block from my “single.php” file from Mantra theme in case anything in it looks obviously wrong to anyone reading this. I feel lost as this is causing me to become so behind in my blog’s direct marketing launch deadline.

Do you have any further advice? Can i hire you to fix this issue by having access to my FTP server?

    Hi Jlsc,

Did you ever get an answer or learn how to fix indentation with Mantra?

I am also needing to remove all padding on the Post titles and elsewhere.
I got rid of the dreaded 1990’s text shadowing, even though they keep it in this otherwise well-designed theme. I have to update every release.

Though not savvy with CSS, I have made a few tweaks.

here is my customization thus far:

    thanks muchly!
