I think it would be good to make the use of the plugin (TT) a little bit clearer on the Plugin page. It’s a little misleading if you don’t want to do CNAME and are simply using the domain mapping tool for WP Multisite…

Just a thought…

I resolved it with my ISP. It was NOT related to WordPress, simply the fact that the ISP had deactivate mod_rewrite…. (no comment)…

aioannidis: are you sure mod_rewrite is working? You might want to test is, for example with the script described here:

I guess you’re right, I’ve written my host, it’s really strange… Is there a way to check whether mod_rewrite is working, e.g. phpinfo or something?

I checked the permissions of the file. It was 644 as are all files. Is that a problem? I would hate to have to 755 everything.. It’s strange, I’ve set up multisites wit 3.1.x before and never ran into these problems…

Any other idea?

good thought… Yes, I checked for :before and content: and there was only one occurrence in the theme’s css which didn’t have any impact though..

I will provide Sayontan a link to a page so he can have a look, I think that’s probably the easiest way.. I will post the solution here afterwards in case anybody comes across the same issues with suffusion and the DL Monitor plugin…

I totally understand your frustration of having to adjust a plugin to someone else’s the whole time..

However, do you have any suggestions of having your plugin return more RELEVANT search results? We all know the search function in WP is really poor… I really like your plugin (nice and slick, fast!) and wouldn’t want to move to anything else..

Appreciate your thoughts (I imagine others too!).

So, coming back to the original question of turning a child blog into a standalone site: the answer is: NO ??

Many workarounds and export import steps, but not “Tool” to do it automatically…

What about XCLONER guys? Just came to my mind as I use it to replicate sites from staging to final servers…?

I like it, quite simple and once you understand the logic, probably the smoothest opion… However, I haven’t tried it on multisite with a child blog yet, just with standalone…

you are right, I messed up. It is indeed a static PAGE (not posts) that are used on the front page.

Could you advise how to change which php file to alter? I am using the SUFFUSION framework theme..

Otherwise I might just switch to posts. Sorry for thinking your plugin had a bug, it actually works as designed, you are completely right!
