Hi @bornforphp,
I see these on the front page if debug is enabled via
wp-config.php
. It’s stopped now.Regarding the backend I fixed this by adding
define('CONCATENATE_SCRIPTS', false);
towp-config.php
– no clue what it does – I’m trusting stackoverflow with this one!I’m also seeing on Reddit that it might’ve been caused by Cloudflare’s recent outrage.
Thanks.
This issue is pretty heavy and spamming
error_log
(currently 2.4GB).Why can’t you provide a hot-fix of a file to edit/replace with now until an update is pushed? Strange.
Hi @karinapremio, thanks for getting back to me! It seems it’s working now and the banner is allowed again.
Seems they updated their site to be more specific to just one website inside of ALL websites based on this code change.
Thanks for the swiftly responses!
It seems many use this plugin for cookie messages and that filter is designed to hide cookie related info (we don’t care about cookies) filter.
I’ve never seen cookies at the top of a website bar though! Normally sites display cookie banners like this (or a modal in middle of page or something). Never seen a Menu, Hellobar or Navbar-style used for cookies!
I believe you’ve to open an Issue on their GitHub for review, not 100% sure.
Hi @karinapremio,
Many thanks for getting back to me! You can view this in Easylist filter here: https://github.com/easylist/easylist/blob/830eddf24b0d0e058e60bb714dfd856338ecc723/easylist_cookie/easylist_cookie_general_hide.txt#L12998
Line 12998:
##.mysticky-welcomebar-fixed-wrap
It’s also listed for specific sites here (these aren’t mine)

@ximie90 Indeed. It’s a shame this was a good plugin easy to use and lightweight I’ve used it since early beta days and developer has multiple times fixed issues and even did a whole re-vamp. That was in 2019 though. Seems it’s died down since even though the PRO paid users aren’t getting answers.
I’ve tried other plugins including the top BetterDocks and one from Echo Plugins but they’re so heavy and packed with settings it’s too much for my projects.
I’ll fork this one and do custom edits and fixes to keep it “alive” in some way.

In reply to: [String locator] 403 errorSame here, WordPress v5.9.3. error log is empty.
403 The above error was returned by your server, for more details please consult your servers error logs.
Fixed it. Removed
define('DISALLOW_FILE_EDIT', true);
from wp-config.php.Because this site is configured to not allow direct file editing, the String Locator plugin has limited functionality and will only allow you to search for files with your string in them.
Seems you can’t search or edit now if this is TRUE. I only wanted the search-side as I always edit via FTP.

Hi @andrewza,
Yeah, I’ve reached out to them multiple times via email and WordPress plugin 4 months ago but it seems it’s another abandoned plugin 2 years ago unfortunately!
Unfortunately I can’t afford premium to see that content, my website is small and $247 fee would take me about 3 years to pay for it for one hook, LOL.
I will try and be smart and play around with the custom function hook and see what I can break. ??
Thanks.

Hey @ximie90,
If it’s the same as my problem the issue was
WP Dashboard > Knowledgebase > Settings
theKnowledgebase Category Slug
was justcategory
and this collided with WordPress’s own category-system pages causing 404 errors. If you want
/category
you can try maybe changing WordPress’s category viaWP Dashboard > Settings > Permalinks
and changecategory base
to something else, not tested myself as I don’t use WP categories – my site is just a Knowledgebase.—– My Issue WAS —–
Going to a category page is “Page Not Found” and on the page not found also missing breadcrumbs so makes it harder for the visitor to navigate.According to other support topics it’s to do with Permalink. I currently use “Post name” setting, you?
It’s seems this Plugin has been abandoned and no longer in active development. Even for PRO owners.
Thanks.
Hi @webbdeveloper,
But a lot of active plugin supporters are asking for the ability for embedded messages, So I added to the development road-map:
Perfect! I’ll look forward to what’s to come. I personally use this one from Autocode for projects. It will definally make it easier to read and appear more professional.
Thanks for the changelog! <3
Also.. where is plugin changelog/release notes? PLEASE include these when doing updates so we know what’s new, fixed or removed.
v1.1.0 to 1.1.2 but no idea what’s different, please inform us via Changelog!
Hi,
SSorry to hijack your thread! I’m having the same issue. However, when disabling the plugin and re-enabling did you lose any settings?
