Resolved with another plugin: WordPress HTTPS

I’m sorry I can’t help more. I found another plugin that is working fine. WordPress HTTPS:

The ‘Force resources to use HTTPS’ option.

And when you deactivate and remove the plugin it doesn’t clean up the .htaccess file either! Users beware of this plugin.
