In reply to: [Iframely – WP media embeds, cards and blocks] Paid plugin and very expensiveHello,
I have tried this plugin on my BuddyPress site and it does work (you can use it for free for a limited number of “hits”). I too didn’t use it in the end because of the high cost and ended up using Embed.ly, which is OK but has its issues. You mentioned that you solved your issue with a few lines of code. Would it be possible to share that code? If you’d prefer to answer me in private, my email is hganns[at]yahoo.com
Thanks

I’m changing my rating back to one star and it seems that it’s gonna stay that way for a long time.
The reason; after testing things out in more depth, I’m sad to say that this plugin has so many bugs and malfunctions it’s mind-boggling. I’m sorry that I can’t remember every single one of them, but I’ll try to list as many as I can to help others who might be thinking of using this, to know what they will come up against.
Groups are problematic, because users can’t see the members list; you get an error message that your account doesn’t have permission to view the page.
Closed groups function doesn’t work, as group admin cannot accept the requests; also, request notifications are shown only when the group creator navigates to the group members page and in grey instead of red, so they are easily missed. Removing the closed groups option would be a solution, but there is no such option.
Registration form is full of bugs. If you use radio buttons and the second option is checked, in profile both options are shown.
You can’t use a field in the registration form without it showing up in the profile too. So when I created an “accept terms” checkbox, the user profile had a line “I accept the Terms of Service” that can’t be removed.
Creating an age dropdown list from 15-99 isn’t possible, as it won’t accept numbers after 65 or something (can’t remember exactly).
If you choose in settings to show only membership users on member page, excluding admins, the members page shows “no users”.
Numerous grammar mistakes in messages, like “Your account don’t have permission”, “Profile is not exists” and similar others. And to repeat the most serious that I mentioned in my first post.
The activity feed shows everything, not only friends and followed users posts, although in the documentation they claim the opposite (BTW, this hasn’t been corrected yet).
Global search doesn’t work.
Share button gives error message “invalid date” and can’t be removed.
No global notifications for friend requests and messages.
If you bulk approve members from the plugin settings, they don’t get notification email.Bare in mind that I tested those bugs many times in different sites (I use multisite) and they were always present. And imagine that I don’t remember all the bugs I encountered and I haven’t even tested every single function. Probably there are even more.
To wrap it up, I find it really funny (and very suspicious) that this plugin with all those bugs has only one other one-star rating and 21 five-star ratings! The review that cracks me up is from a guy who says: “I have tested the most downloaded member plugins, highest rated with the most reviews! None of them worked. This plugin work easily…” You gotta be kidding me. But I have really tested most membership plugins (to an extent) and although all might have a couple of bugs here and there, nothing compares to this. Not by a long shot.
I believe, and I’ll say it loud and clear, that those five-star reviews are either from people who tried the plugin for 10 minutes, it looked fine (it does look pretty good until you start delving deeper) and they decided to be nice and leave the best rating; or they are FAKE.
Another guy some time ago says: “I haven’t tried it yet, but it looks promising to me. Gonna try it soon. Love the way it looks.” Seriously? What kind of BS is this? Five stars for a plugin he admits he hasn’t tried! Mods should remove such ridiculous and misleading reviews.
And the latest. Title: “Best Membership Plugin”. Review: “Best Membership Plugin”. Wow! That’s an eye opener. And guess what… this user became a member yesterday and this was his first post. And he got an answer after an hour, when this company usually answers after 2-5 days! Is it me or does everybody smell a rat?- This reply was modified 6 years, 10 months ago by davewp85.
You’re welcome.
I’m updating my rating to 2 stars for now and I’ll update again when things start getting fixed. I appreciate it if you’ll inform me about the progress, as I’m in a pretty tight schedule.
Have a nice day!

In reply to: [LiteSpeed Cache] Conflict with Coming Soon modeYou’re welcome guys.
@lisa
I’m sorry but this happened some time ago and I don’t remember all the plugins I tried, just that I checked the most popular ones. I was (and still am) using ‘Coming Soon Page & Maintenance Mode by SeedProd’ and I’m sure I also tested it with ‘Minimal Coming Soon & Maintenance Mode By WebFactory’ and ‘WP Maintenance Mode By Designmodo’. Couple of others as well, but can’t remember which ones.Glad I could help. Have a nice day.
