Just to be sure, do you also have Polylang plugin installed (free version is sufficient)?

Elementor and Polylang are needed both for the Connect plugin.
And, you have to setup at least two languages in Polylang to make use of the language switcher widget etc.

For the template translation feature you will need Elementor Pro – as only Pro has the Theme Builder and for that the template translation feature is there.

Hi and sorry for the delay on my behalf, somehow I oversaw your request.

Yes, technically our plugin should run fine with PHP 5.4 and 5.5 — though those are not recommended anymore. Of course you are free to try.

It could be that the dashboard plugin installer will not allow the install, since we added PHP 5.6 as minimum to our plugin header in readme and plugin main file.
In that case please download the plugin from here to your computer and upload it manually. If that still not works change the header lines in readme.txt and connect-polylang-elementor.php from 5.6 to 5.5 — at your own risk of course.

The Elementor Pro Search widget currently does not respect various languages coming from multingual plugins like Polylang.

However, Elementor Pro v2.7.0 brought new action hooks into the search widget, this could open the possibility for workarounds which we are currently considering/ trying to test. I cannot promise anything yet, but I hope that we can have a solution for this somehow.

Search results per language in WordPress is already very difficult, even without Elementor already.

If someone has other ideas or suggestions how to tackle this issue – all is very welcome!

There is this plugin which can list all sites in Multisite Network alpabetically sorted by letter:

This would be a solution.

Since I cannot make a promise if and/or when I would consider such feature requests for my plugins/add-ons I now mark this thread here as resolved for now to keep things organized.

I would recommend to manage snippets with the awesome “Code Snippets” plugin as stuffing the functions.php of a theme is bad practice:

It is fully ok to deactivate the plugin for clients – and only use it yourself. The plugin is not build for clients anyway (but can be used of course, if wanted). I do the same with my clients as well ??

For Elementor freezing I am unable to reproducse anything like that. I have the plugin running on all my client sites (for myself only active) and all personal projects, these are more than 50 installs, plus few dozens test installs. All those installs cover a lot of specific environments and plugin collections, and therefore also quite some edge cases. I just have no issues regarding Elementor freezing.

Normally Elementor disables the Toolbar anyway, when in Elementor Edit mode (the builder, the panel). So it is very unlikely anything Toolbar related gets loaded from my plugin.

If you have any more info for me, please share it here — feel free to open a new thread per issue to keep things organized here.

I mark as resolved for now to keep the overview here. If there any detailed info or things you discover please re-open or better open a new issue.
